I feel bad for the people, can't imagine not being able to wake up from what must seem like a nightmare and have to realize you are more than awake and fully aware that death is imminent in one of the worst ways possible.  That being said, I also feel bad for the wolves, we've taken so much from them and at times I don't think they have many other choices.  They are beautiful, intelligent animals and it makes me really sad to see this kind of thing happen.  We have coyotes here and they killed my friend's dog, an older mixed breed but faithful family companion.  Her other dog has not gotten over the loss and it's been a year now, he cries at night.  I've spotted coyotes on the trail while walking at dusk and though they're much smaller and shy from people it can still be a bit spine tingling.  You know they are more aware of you than you of them...someone is watching kind of feeling.
