Only if it says SV pink papers are they SV pink papers. Everything else is your own interpretation. If a pup was imported in utero for example and got USA pink papers the advertisement is still correct. In the US the term 'import' is used very loosely anyways. Often the dog was out of import parents or grandparents or imports even further back. Buyer still needs to check all the details. Name is one indicator, but for that you need to have a way of knowing if such a kennel name is indeed German. Parents is an indicator too. Again, you need to do your homework so that you know what you are looking at.
For someone who has a dog with pink papers from country X, or who is from country X that issues pink papers, it is not misleading at all. You need to take a peek from out of your tunnel every once in a while folks and get a bit more global.
Where the dog came from or where it was bred should not matter anyways if the dog was what you were looking for, had the pedigree/lines you wanted, had the looks you wanted, fills the need you need filled. You need to check the facts before, or go with someone who can check them for you, or accept what comes your way once you have made a decision.
Buyer responsibility is also part of the purchase process. Even more so if it appears to be a 'bargain dog'.

Hi,
This is in regards to the "import male, VA Bax grandson" He was my dog and I sold him. The new owner acts very bazarre. I did not imply nor say anything about German papers ! She never asked me about German papers ! He is an import, with pink papers. I dont know what she thought she was buying ? Hes a very nice male, show quality, and is a VA Bax grandson ! He is tattooed and does match the paperwork. She wanted him for his looks and pedigree also. Because in her mind, she is not knowledgable about papers she assumed he was from Germany. I really dont know why. Again, there was never any mention about Germany. There is absolutly nothing misleading here.

Sounds like a case of BUYER BEWARE - there are many people who would have told you NOT to buy from Donna, she is a crook and a BYB, lies on her ads, anything to make a sale! I have been wondering if she was the seller since you first mentioned being charged for boarding when she missed the flight, only breeder I know that money grubbing dirty! I have not purchased from Donna myself (luckily saw through her BS before sending a deposit), but I know people who have and everyone of them regrets it!

Donna says- "I did not imply nor say anything about German papers ! "
Umm, Donna...I think your ad pretty much implies the dog "Does" come with "pink" papers.

Yellowrose - I did inquire and got several positive references before purchasing my dog. None of the events you refer to happened before I bought from him, in fact almost a full year after I made my purchase. I did my research and still got the shaft, happens sometimes, but in this case Echo didnt check up on the seller first. I doubt she will let that happen again!

by GSDfan on 21 October 2007 - 20:10
Echo, why would you even do business with this person...she doesn't have a great rep on this board for all the shameless ad flooding she did with her last litters. I believe you even joined in on the threads complaining about it.
Donna YES you did try to make it sound like they were from Germany don't act stupid...you might not have said it but we both know that using the term "pink papers" makes it sound that way! Shame on you. Technically it's not false advertising, just a shameless marketing ploy. BUT Echo YOU should have asked more questions and/or asked to see copies of the papers prior to the purchase...assume NOTHING!!
