That is a hard call specially if you live on the farm. Have you tried the e-collar Not a huge fan but in this case it is worth a try.
I would also get some training on him if you are going to keep him. There is nothing better then a TRAINED dog. This will also help with the dog problems he has.
Just as Caution I would not leave him alone with any small children that is Just my Opinion.
