I gave my pup Rimadyl for 8 days, used Acriptin at 1/2 tablet 2x times a day in the old days with same results. I also put pups from that line, which does get pano for some reason, on lower protein/energy food and supplement with Esther-C and Joint Strong from K9 Power Products. No problems after that, but they tend to grow out of it anyway regardless. Of all the problems one can have with GSD's, pano is the one I worry about the least. Neutering the dog who produces pups who get pano would never be an option for me.

Zipcode
No clouded judgment there . How is that Hansome Mandog? Seems like father and son are not the only ones according to lastest post.

Yes...it seems like it is happening a lot with other people also! Possibly it isnt genetic?!
Reading some last nite..it mainly happens in male dogs 6-18mts of age. Some males just tend to grow FASTER then their litter mates!!
Tell Yukon to suck it up!

I had 2 pups I held back a couple years ago that were on Canidae. Both ended up with SEVERE pano. Deramaxx for a few wks, still bad. Switched to raw, problems went away in about 2 wks and never resurfaced. Other pups in the litter were fed other foods than Canidae and never pano. This last litter (as well as 2 older pups) I put on Taste of the Wild and no problems so far and it's been a couple months now.
