when is too big a problem - Page 2

And Guys... in a nutshell... my general idea of correct EARS  is that it should be realative to the size and shape of the muzzle...Wide base...length should be proportional to the length of the muzzle... Regarding EYES... We dont want our GSDs to look like they got hitched with Metampethamine HCL... not to rounded  that it detracts from the noble look... ( Round eyes on a GSD may look like a Junkie or a RABID infected dog...) plus to consider the historical fact that the PHYLAX, try to create dogs that look like wolves...

Now my question is...DeesWolf  when do you consider the head (and ears..) to be already matured adult ears.??? I had a long struggle to get my pups ears up (up around 5 months)...and Vit. C with Jello really help, now, im wondering if they are pulled too inwards... the outer arch is not as well defined as the inner arch... they RELAX on a vertical position and touch when excited, it should be relaxed at a somewhat angle right.??  and they goes vertical when excited.??? Any fix for this problem... Am also hoping his wither height stop growing...already at 65.5 cms at 11 months...

omg! gsdfanatic...those are some EARS!! but they are sooo cute! they all just look soo happy...u cant help but smile at that picture....and somethings wrong with a persons soul if they don't...

yep! I swear, that one reminds me of a pic i have of my nephew right in front of me....you know those first baby pics where they catch a shot of the baby right in mid laughter? that puppy looks just like that, like he was laughing at the time at someone playing peek-a-boo or something....

I love the big ears too,  don't get me wrong I would not go so extremem as to breed specifically for Ear Size,  But gotta love em !!

I don't like the shape and size of the eyes on most Sable GSD's I see,  I see few Sables with Large Almond eyes,  Most of them are just a slit,  and very TINY,   any reason for that or just maybe a line I have been exposed to ???   I don't have any,  I don't like sables but have only seen a few sables and they all seem to be that way,  have only seen one sable with larger more "Correct" eye size and shape...  Any thoughts.

OMG! A little bunch of vampire Bats for Halloween! They are TOO cute! I just love the little smiley one! And all of those great big ears are UP! That's my only problem with super big ears, if the ear leather is too thin, the ears have a harder time standing. Beckett is just growing into his ears now, but thank goodness they finally stood at about 7 months, right about the time I was about to give up in despair! His head was too big for a while, his ears were really too big for a long time, & now his body looks too big for his head & his ears look good! After all these stages are done, he's gonna be the most handsome GSD ever born! jmho! jo

 ANOTHER SABLE MALE WITH BIG EAR AND A VET TOLD THAT OH THOSE EARS WILL NEVER STAND THEY ARE TOO BIG . For 75.00 I can tape them   .....she came out very upset....she knew better.....This is Dr.Pepper....

EE: DO you think you gsd 's ears are too big?   Dr.Pepper 's look large until he grew into them   he is over two now and I dont have a current pic....in this pic above he is 11 mos old..
