Then I suggest if you know what you like in a strong working dog, to watch any dog you are considering as stud work for yourself before making any decisions. I know that's what I do when looking at stud dogs - especially show-line stud dogs for my show-line female. I have a very VERY short list of show-line dogs that I consider 'strong enough' for breeding to my female - Fabian is not on that list.

Molly you jealous bi#@h , why don't you let everyone else on this website know exactly why you don't have him on your list
1. He is and will never be allowed to breed to any of your ugly ass females, because a while back you attacked his owners,on this very web board.
2. He beat out your dog (yes!!!your dog!!!!!! for the universal title...Or did you block that out of your small memory!!!huh!!!!)
You need to keep your nose out of this message board because your comments should not count.
I know Fabien very well and if you ever took a bite from him, he'd probably drag your ass and the sleeve all the way back to his car. He is sooooo much stronger than he really looks, and his puppies are very strong as well.
He is a very hard dog, with nerves of steel, trust me!!! So if you want to breed to him, this is my take on him, and I have seen him in person many times. So don't listen to Molly, results speak for themselves.
So Molly, shut up and go train all day, your dog realllly needs it, and so do you...

sorry about that, my opinion is judged on watching the dog work MANY times in many situations on many helpers. Medium dog. Nothing "bad" about him - but not "strong" and not on my list of stronger-than-the-norm show-line dogs. I know what I like when I see dogs working, and he's not too bad, but not too great either.
circumstances about the Universal Seiger should be looked into before assuming I am jealous of him winning - I certainly am not. Put it this way, had my dog won it would have been legitimately and because he did everything without "favors".

To anyone interested in a "truthful, professional, hands-on" opinion of this dog's temperment & character......please feel free to email me.
We work this dog...EVERY week.....there is NOTHING about his "working ability"...thru the protection phase, that we cannot honestly answer.
He is a strong, sound dog....for sure.

Does anybody here have a good quality video of Fabian doing protection work? Hows his obedience?

I got to meet Fabian this summer and watched him work.
We talk quite a bit about a middle ground in this breed, and I think Fabian is a positive example of this. He loves to & can work, is structurally correct, and has a super temperament. Whatever is said about politics or bashing of certain lines, it can't negate the fact this is a super dog!

At the USA Nationals where Fabian became Universal Sieger his protection score was 89, and Eagle vom Eichenluft was a 90. It doesn't seem to be much difference from a strong working dog to a show dog... hmmmmm?
