Howdy,
this how it happened to me :
1. Mail requesting a pup..... no gender specified, no colour or temperment question asked
2.From Saudi Arabia !! Will send dripple amount of what is asked ! Will have his own shipper to come & pick up pup !!
I played along, just because I wanted to know where this would lead to.
3. Cheque was send, now get this :
Request from Saudi Arabia - Letter recieved from England - Cheque from France - Guy who signed the cheque had an Italien name !
Turned all paperwork over to the Internet fraud devision of the german criminal police - haven't heared anything, but they were very interested in that stuff !
What is said before is right...... every time someone wants to give you more money then requested - RUN !

A nice pup or dog is expensive enough. I couldn't imagine anyone volunteering to pay more than the stated amount as it is. This stuff reeks of scam. I do hope the authorities (internet, phone or what have you) can figure out someway to catch these crooks. It's hard enough seeking reliable, loving homes for these puppies and dogs as it is without the snare of being totally scammed in the process.
Besides, anyone who has no interest in specifics with the pups/dogs, would send up all sorts of red flags. If you're sending that sort of money, having said animal shipped and an "agent" handle the p/u, etc, you've invested a lot of money already. You would/should definitely be seeking something very special and know what that is. JMO

I got a couple of e-mails from someone with basically the same scam a few weeks ago, but with a "gentle touch" on the first contact. They said they would send a cashier's check, then have someone pick up the puppy and take care of shipping themselves, which sounded really fishy. I wrote back I don't ever sell dogs to people I haven't at least met /interviewed, gotten to know at least by phone a number of times, so they should call me in person if they were legit.
Next thing I knew someone was calling me purporting to be a service for the hearing impaired, supposedly typing my words as I spoke so the other party could read my responses. I tried to conduct a preliminary interview, but the so-called typist became agitated, kept telling me to keep my questions short. When I objected, began asking more in-depth questions about who the would-be buyer WAS, and WHERE, they hung up. There was no caller ID ("Blocked Caller"). I never heard from them again. I can't remember the signature or address on the e-mails, but it screamed "broker" from first glance.
I hung up feeling like I'd dodged a bullet, still shocked and upset that anyone would try to take one of my beloved puppies from me in that way to do who-knows-what with it.
Scarey stuff!

I got the exact same email also, but they claimed to be from England. I had never heard of the scams at the time but it sounded incredibly fishy to me and I said NO WAY.
