Julie,

Lots of positive thoughts your way!  From all your posts, you seem like a nice young lady that really does enjoy animals.  You seem very honest and forthright.  You have a real yearn to learn.  You sound so much like me when I was younger with your dreams of horses.  I don't know how many times I wanted to answer ads for the same thing you're doing.  I was always afraid of hearing the "no experience" thing too and therefore, never followed up.

I wish you lots of luck and please, let us know how it goes!!

Julie,  Absolutely !!!

We have hired several kids who did not have any previous experience but they had the Desire and the Want to learn,  Sometimes that's all it takes to get into an owner/operator's good graces and have them open up to you and be willing to share ALL  with you !!

Best of Luck girl,   I hope you get it,  I think you would do very well !!!!!!

good luck to you! ditto on all the good advice and keep up your enthusiasm and desire to learn! and make sure you wear good STURDY boots! my best friends horse stepped on my left foot ~2 years ago (the ONE time i didn't wear my boots!!!) and i'm going thru podiatrist visits now because of it. you will enjoy the hard work tho, it takes you away from all the nonsense you cant change and you can accomplish tasks that make a difference (for people and horses). i hope you get the job - if i had a stable i'd hire you!

Hi Julie

I echo many of the comments others have made and wish you luck with the job.  Horses are very beautiful, sensitive creatures who will always hold a special place in my heart.  Sadly I have sold my last one and given up riding now.  My dream of lots of acres, horses, and GSDs didn't quite work here in the UK.  If you decide you really want to learn about horses and how they think explore Natural Horsemanship.  here is a link which you all might enjoy  http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fQsNJc4VIp4&mode=related&search=

and this is just a laught for all you dressage riders http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=De0vL53EDgU&mode=related&search=

hey guys!  I GOT IT!!!  i dont have time to tell all now, my kids just got home, but i will be on later....thanks for all the luck you sent my way...!!!

Atta Girl !!!

One thing when it comes to horses,  when someone says do this...  Just do it,  and ask later,  sometimes especially with large animals there is NO time to explain but what your being told to do may save you from injury,  those who have been there can read the horses,  and they know what's about to come,  when they say DO THIS.....   Just Do It,   then come back later and ask about it.

Be Safe,  Absolute Best of Luck to you,  and CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!!!

You go girl! They are lucky to have you. I am sure you will do fine. The only advice I can give you that has not already been given is when working with or around keep a calm demeanor. Don't stand right in front of a horse but to the side somewhat. If they spook they may go right over you meaning bash into you. They are big animals and it can hurt. There is a saying that goes something like "the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man(or woman)" It is so true! Have fun!!

ok, now that i have a min to sit down........

well, like i said, i got the job..yipee!....allthey need right now is someone to come in a couple days a week...they already have a couple that lives ther and take care of things, but the couple are getting up in age, the man having heart problems, and they cant do as much as they use to....so they need a little extra help so the couple can have more time off........the man that actually owns the place does not live on site, but his son does.....his son mostly runs the place and is learning to take over....when the owner showed up, and we were discussing what i would be doing , something was said, cant remember but the son said..."yea, your main motivation seems to be to learn"  yall were sooooo right! they were very happy about that.....so,  the pay is not the greatest but its actually more than i was expecting, Im very happy about it all because one of the main things that i will be starting with is learning how to ride properly.....so thats payment enough to me!  I will be doing things like mucking stalls, feeding, keeping the property in shape by mowing and weed-eating<<(which i love to do, i find that very relaxing) they also want me to learn how to drive a tractor!!! OMG!  lol...little nervous about that one but they say its like a big lawnmower...

well anyhow, i already have another question.....it's a big one i think...while there he had me lead a horse to it's stall....i was OK with that but when it came time to actuallygo IN the stall, i got a little nervous(ok alot) more nervous than i thought i would... I did it, and i think i did good ...but i was certianly filled with butterflies....so do yall have any suggestions on how to get over the nervousness?  I know horses can sense that....so i really need to get over it........thanks again for all the help....
