Kelly M Shaw

by Kelly M Shaw on 17 September 2007 - 01:09

I also had a West working line male some years back. I have to go look up his paper work, he was an import, and was trained a little bit as a police dog,  but he was my PPD and was extremely serious about it. If anyone was in the truck with me, I would have to put them in the truck first, then the dog, and then me, otherwise he would go off. One day after training, I forgot to take his harness off, and stopped at a rest area by Detroit. I was in the back of the truck, and just got him out of the crate when he totally went off, I was doing everything I could to hold him. Some guy was walking up to my truck very dirty, stuff in his hair, just didn't look right, I told him to back off, and he kept coming, I said it again, and told him my dog will attack, and then he left. Another time someone was trying to break in my house where I use to live, and I was sleeping. Needless to say I never had that problem again. He was an awesome dog. My girl that has passed in March was the same way, and she had DDR and West working in her. Since she has passed it seems that my Pit Bull/Lab rescue has taken on the role.  I'm glad someone did, hehe!!! I just think it depends on the dog it's self, not necessary the lines of the dog.

The Troll I am talking about is TROLL VOM HAUS MALINDA (Parden spelling.) I haven't looked at Boss's pedigree lately, just thought I'd clarify the Troll of which I am speaking.

SORRY AGAIN, TROLL VOM HAUS MILINDA (WITH AN "I" NOT AN "A")

I agree with  Kelly....in all the thousands of lines, out of each one, you can select as a pup, by certain tests done by a reputable trainer,, and knowing the parentage, and with the proper training and the bonding of you, most important of all,   you can have a fabulous pp dog.....

Now , I am referring to german bloodline,, and I perticularly like the w . german blood lines and ad a  litte ddr or Belgium line into the breeding....

For personal protection, I do not think some of the high fight drive lines are really suitable....They belong on the street, with a hard man or woman of lots of educated strength to control......

If you are happy with the DDR kids you have, then youve got it......as long as you can control her /him....

Though, the Troll in Boss's Pedigree could be called just as good if not BETTER than Troll vh Milinda. Be proud to have EITHER of the Troll's in your boy's Pedigree!

Personally, both Trolls have been highly spoken of, and no, this is NOT JUST HEAR-SAY, everyone on this board can acknowledge Troll vom haus Milinda and Troll von der Bosen Narbarshaft.

Gosh, hope I spelled them right THAT time!

im a big fan of the ruger and glock lines when it comes to personal protection.  pick the caliber you like/can handle.  i like the .357 but not afraid to go to the .45

oh, you were talking dogs.  i guess i would want the one that would actually do it.

Yes there is handler aggression wit the Mink lines. My little dog hs bit me three or four times, but I like that in a dog as long as I don't have to fight with them all the time.

John,

I'm a big fan of Smith & Wesson, Sig , and Baretta lines. There are many more I like as well.....Just like dogs.

Well said, Denise.  A good PP dog can come in any line.

How mentally strong and well performing a PP dog is also has much to do with their raising and training, in my opinion.  Some exceptional dogs I have enjoyed working with that had outstanding PP work include a show/work cross form Sukee kennels, a Neptun son from MIttelwest, a working line male ( I think he was czech/east german?) from Eurosport, and my own Rikkor daughter come to mind immediately, along with a show/work cross (went back to Yoschy but also Jello Weinerau) male I owned.

I also know a guy who picked up a black GSD running the streets as a stray, non descriminate looking dog, sat at animal control for awhile and no one claimed him, after obedience work the dog was a natural.

GARD is handler aggression also common in Chico Fasanerie's line? I have seen a LOT of it.
