What great photos! Thanks for posting them. The seond one is on the GSDCA website, but I've not seen the first. I sure wish that hole in the ground were still there so everyone could see just what they did to us on that horrible day.

I still weep remembering that awful day. I remember when the first tower fell, I just collapsed, thinking of all the firefighters & EMS folks that were there in the shadows of those buildings. I was watching my 3 year old grandson at the time, and he crawled into my lap & cried with me. God Bless all those who battled the toxic smoke & debris, both victims & rescuers, God Bless those who perished, & all those who struggle with the painful memories. God Bless America, and Damnation to those who brought this upon us. Never, never, never forget. My prescious gsd's remind me every day of the courage of those SAR dogs, & of their handlers. There are no words for the emotions that run through me on this day. jackie osborne

Hi Group,
I just (1 hour ago) returned from the memorial ceremony at Ground Zero. I was invited, as was my K-9 partner,Tango to be a reader. Well he was just an observer.. Senitment was strong and as the first name was read the heavens opened up as if shedding tears .After reading my assigned names, I was ushered to the pit. My dog became very animated and started stacking breaths (he had scent) and pulling me towards some rubble that we were not allowed access to. As we said our silent prayers and placed some floweres in the reflective pool a female chaplin stopped me and asked where Anna was. She was the dog I had at the trade center. I explained she died and this was my current partner, Tango. We both broke down and hugged. Amazing how in all that confusion, commotion the dogs left a lasting impression. Later as I stood among the families, I noticed a woman obviously grief stricken sitting in a folding chair, her family behind her.I allowed and encouraged Tango to move closer to her. Scencing (sp) her dispair he gently placed his head against her leg and leaned. I watched as she gently stroked his massive head and then quietly wispered something in his ear. She looked up at me and without saying a word, thanked me for the moment.
As we prepared to leave, many FDNY stopped us to take pictures of Tango and to express their thanks to all K-9's and handlers for their work. We must never forget!!!!!!!
thank you for letting me share...
