Thanks for all of the advice guys. I really would love to go for his grand championship, I am pretty sure of that. And the only aggression issues he has, is when another dog comes up to him, and wants to sniff a little too much. Then he cops a attitude. Almost like they are invading his space or something. We are working on that one big time. He is getting better each time it happens. As far as the ring goes, I was told that he just needs to mature some, and put some weight on and form a chest! OH, and kind of give a sh*t that we are doing something important, lol. I was mainly thinking of the health issues. As far as his plush/long coat, YES, he does have a very very heavy undercoat. His groomer couldn't believe it the first time she worked on him. His hair seems to be thining out some, and getting somewhat more coarse as he matures. It's not as soft as it was when he was a little younger. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. I'll have to take some new pics of him and post a new stack photo of him. The last one was taken 3 or 4 months ago. I still have a lot of things to think about before I actually do this. But yes, I will wait until he turns 2 to do it if I decide to. Thanks again all.

If you enjoy showing him, and he enjoys it, do it. If not find something else you can do together, I think the ob is fun and it comes in handy. If you quit showing then take him in. I would not let anyone else make this decision for you. Nor would I let one judge and one day stop me. Who cares what others think, if you are enjoying yourself.

Hi,the only thing that i will tell you from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE is that neutering has a 50-50 chance of reducing aggression IF done BEFORE 6 months old.When the dog is older it will do NOTHING for the aggression and i found that out with the nightmare of a pup i bought off a scum big showline breeder (women) in Abottsford B.C Canada.Hope this helps

Yes, Lisa, Grand is the highest you can go in conformation for UKC. I just need to decide if I want to continue with him, and go for it. I have been thinking about it more since I posted this post. I do think that I will continue with him, and try for it. I just have to get us bothin the mind set to do so. Thanks for all of the advice and the comments on my boy : - }

What about some working titles? It is a working breed, after all.
As they say in the horse world: A good stallion makes a great gelding.

I don't believe there is any where around me where they do that kind of training. I looked into it before, but I would like to keep him a show dog and not make him aggressive the way that type of training would make him in my opinion. I wouldn't want to send him off either to have someone else train him, not knowing how he would be when I got him back!

ShepherdWoman,
I know a lady who shows in UKC, and does extremely well with her long coated male. Last I heard she was working on a Grnd. Ch title. If Chaos has done the good in the show ring I say good luck and have fun doing it!! I agree with EK, as long as he is healthy, enjoy!!

When I say working titles, I dont necessarily mean Schutzhund. SAR certs, agility, AKC obedience, herding, tracking, TDI, something! I don't think schutzhund is the be all and end all of what makes a good dog by any stretch of the imagination, but I am a firm believer that EVERY GSD getting bred needs to have SOME kind of performance event title. Please don't take offense, I'm not trying to insult your dog, but stroling around a confo ring is mindless activity, not work.
Also, a well trained protection dog under the complete control of its handler should never be needlessly aggressive.
