if you want to feed them chicken, please just don't cook it anymore...very dangerous....im sure you love your dogs so don't take the chance, if you want to feed thm cooked chicken just take the meat off the bones...i do that all the time when feeding them leftover chicken

Recently i mentioned to the vet that I give lucy carrots, she said carrots are good for dogs, but in moderation, they contain alot of sugar and could pose a problem with weight.  So now i only give them to her about twice a week, but she does enjoy them.

cooking any kind of bones is what makes them brittle and can cause damage.  We feed raw turkey necks a couple times a week and they chow down.

Julie, Im not very experienced either, but i have a 2 yr old female gsd , and i found out just be accident that she loves fresh carrots, i feed her raw but am not over the fence on it , if  she goes for it , then fine but if not i will feed her what she wants ,  she is not that picky but will not eat what she doesnt want, she is due to have her first litter and now she will only eat cooked chicken and ground beef, but 2 weeks ago only pork bones and  beef,  she is 79 lbs so it is a hunt and peck ,the weight ,is 79 pounds and is due 1 week and and is as fit as any dog i have ever saw. She is show quality  ,with a great blood line ,but no working line or drive, so my advise is to work with your dog and find what makes them happy as long as there weight doesnt get over or under what the vet advise, gsd to run  thin ,when they are in good health ,a little thin to a novices eye.(me too.) So short, feed carrots as  treats, no harm.

If you pup likes carrots try frozen green beans too.  Our dogs all think they are candy.

I prepare fresh carrots by grating them and lightly stewing them and then draining them before packaging and freezing them as I do them in quantity monthly. I then use the juice and make trays of ice cubes with it. I find these 100% fresh carrot juice Ice Cubes to be excellent treats/coolers for both teething pups and refreshing treats for the adults. I also sometimes add in apples or other fruits or veggies when I grate & drain so my veggie cubes can sometimes be carrot/apple or other "blends".

You say "CUBE"  to my dogs and they come running!
