I had hoped to do sch work with Axle, but it just didn't seem like the right fit for us. We have been doing agility training for about 8 months now, and he seems to love it. He gets a real gleam in his eyes when he sees an A-frame or tunnel. We will be doing our first trial in 2 weeks. We'll see how he handles it (outdoor trial, new smells, lots of dogs, etc). I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!

Schutzhund is our "main thing" but I also enjoy doing other stuff with the dogs.
I try to put a CGC and TC on all of the dogs and will do so with Drama in the future hopefully. Libby has her AKC CD, we started training for her CDX and she missed her first leg by touching the broad jump, but then I got busy working with her daughter and we never pursued it further. She also has her CGC, TC, HIC (Herding Instinct Certificate) and she has done herding, agility, some therapy stuff, many demos, conformation as well. Brat has done herding and agility and got her first RN leg with a 93 (the first time I have ever even seen a Rally title so we didnt do much prep for it!), I hope to do more AKC stuff with her soon. Drama starts her first agility class next week, I am hoping to do some agility titles with her. I also plan to have her at least evaluated and worked in her herding enough to see what her instinct/ability is.
I just enjoy working with my dogs, it is fun to do other things sometimes... but like I said, our main love/goal is SchH :)

not sure what to make of that one 4 pack!
I train two of my dogs in Schutzhund and Herding respectively. I used to train in agility and would love to get into SAR at some point in my life.

Oh it's just all of these threads talking about dogs in the house and sleeping on the beds, couch and wherever they want. I just thought that would come next. Where I come from dogs are dogs, they live outside, they live like dogs. Mine live like really high class dogs, but still dogs, not furry children. If I brought my boy inside to sleep on the bed, I would wake up with him eating the mattress or standing over the top of me, and neither is a good thing.
I do have 2 "pet" GSD's who function just fine inside but our "real" dogs are too high drive and/or dominant.

EEWWWEEEE! Well my dogs are spoiled rotten but dam if they will ever get that spoiled!!!
I have gotten lazy in my old age and mostly I walk them in the woods! I toy a little with obedience, tracking and some bitework but I have to travel for the bitework so it doesn't always fit in with my lifestyle anymore.

My 2.5 year old was intended for SchH but had bad hips which we fixed so now just do AKC obedience. Have 2 legs of CDX. Trialing for out T soon also.
With my puppy I am doing SchH but will also do some AKC stuff. Had her out at a friends tonight doing basic agility stuff. She would be awesome at that but Mom only has so much time and energy.
