Desertranger, I was told Tino was pure DDR, I dont know how to decipher the pedigree to tell for sure, what would I be looking for in his pedigree? www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/476224.html

Thank you for all the nice comments and personal emails I recieved for Rookie, I will keep you updated on his progress. He is only a year old and still has lots of growing up to do.
Shandra, I usually do a search on a dog, and check the 5 or 7 generation pedigree and look for DDR registration numbers or SV registration numbers that start with a 9. You can also search the messageboard for other posts on DDR dogs, there is lots of information on here. My first DDR was a halfer, as I call them. He was 1/2 DDR and 1/2 WG working lines. He was an awesome dog. his mom was DDR and he looked just like her. That is where I got hooked. Since my first male, I have had quite a few full or part DDR and they really fit what I like in a dog. I like my dogs and horses the same, nice head, blocky body, heavy bone, stubborn attitude.. (Kind of sounds like the type of men I like too) :-)
