true about criminal rights. But I have one for the dogs and the police dept. I used to be a cop not K-9 just patrol. We were chasing this guy who tired to rob someone. My dept was trying out Rotties for the K-9 program. Well the rottie caught him and we all got there just in time to see him take a chunk of the guys leg and eat it in front of him. IUt was great!!!!They had to stop using them cause their bites cost the city too much once they are in custody the jurisdiction is responsible for the medical expenses. Im retired my son is joining, he was riding along the other night and a shepherd caught this guy in the one place a guy doesn't want a dog bite. Gotta love K-9 cops. Don't know their sentences but I know they won't run from a dog again. And the other one won't be making any babies any time soon if ever,

Reno, I have advised on this board in the past New Jersey and all its laws "stink", same goes for their highest property taxes in the nations. The 15 or so Atlantic City Casinos do nothing for the average taxpayer. Their monies are directed toward the special interest groups : eg building new homes for the inner city residents of Atlantic City!

Vom Brunhaus:
That is the reason we had to shut the NJ plant down. Taxes, legislation, union - it just became impossible to make a profit in that state so we had to walk away. As a result over 100 plant workers lost their jobs. It was a very sad day for our company as well as those people who who for some had several generations working there. The Ca plant is still running strong, although we sold this business to a compeitor 9 years ago. The new buyers wanted no part of the NJ facility and we would have given it to them for practically nothing.

I don't know what that judge was advising, but I have been told by several attorneys not to place "Beware of Dogs" sign on your property. They denote your admission of aggressiveness in your dogs. You are better off placing the "Dogs in Yard" signs. That way, there is no admission of temperment, only a concern of someone leaving the gate open, etc.

We have "Stop, dogs in yard" signs on our gates and fences. And still had some idiot start sticking his hand through the locked gate with the dog going nuts on the other side. Good thing I was right there.
As far as the judicial system goes, when you have a sitting judge that sues a dry cleaner for $50 million due to a pair of pants being misplaced, that shows how screwed up things really are.

Amen all depends on the judge. Some of them are so stupid you wonder how they got there. I put the beware signs up because i dont want anyone in my yard. The dogs would probably lick them to death but I dont know that for sure. The judge down here who awared the burgler 30 grand for getting a chunk of his butt removed by a rottie said they guy should have had a sign on his door saying he had a vicous dog inside. The dog wasn't vicious, was doing his job protecting his house and owner.
