Success at AKC shows depends on the breed and it's not easy with a GSD. However, I think you do have a better chance of winning with an owner-handled dog at AKC shows than at SV shows. I never showed at UKC shows, but probably would if I were still into showing dogs although I'd need a better dog than Blitz.

Thanks guys for the advise. I am not in the US so we don't show under AKC. Also the german shepherds are not judged by the american standard either. My dog actually can hold a stack and he lets people examine his teeth, I have been training him but never really showed him. I have a lot of fun when I train him and thats why I wanna show him cos it looks like it will be a good experience for the both of us.
