I think most people selling something now days have been involved in one of these. You even get them when you are looking to buy. I received a few lst time I had an animal for sale. Pretty funny if you know. Not funny if you fall for it....

Hope this helps. I had the same thing happen when we were selling our snow mobiles a couple of years ago online. A man so called named Barry Siles emailed me and wanted to buy our sleds. This is just a part of a paragraph from a email that I still have.
My business asscoiate is owing me so i will instruct him to issue you a check for the $11,150 which serves as payment for the sled and the shipping charges.what i want you to do when you receive the check is to send the remainder to my shipper via western union so it is then he will now come for the pick up.My shipper will be shipping some other things for me so i will instruct him to do the shipping altogether.Hope i can trust you with these funds?
Problem was we were only asking $5000 for the package, LOL. Any way, I called our local police department and they suggested to lead this guy on and then when I got the cashiers check, to take it to my bank and have them check on it. I kept the guy going, and did infact recieve a cashiers check for $11,150! I called the bank that was on the check and they said that it was counterfit if there was no seal on it, which there was not. I went to my local bank and talked to one of the managers. The instantly got on the phone to the FBI and let the know they had one of those wonderful checks! I gave them ALL of my emails from this guy etc. so that they could hopefully take care of it. I have never heard anything about it since as they said I would never know if they caught this guy. I asked the bank what would have happened if I had cashed the check if they would have not caught that it was counterfit in the beginning. They said that I would have been liable for all of the money because I would have been the one to cash it! Would have just about ruined my entire life! Any way, that is my story about online scammers. Good luck with it, and watch who you do business online with!
