Kalibeck

At my husbands insistance my dogs sleep in their crates at night, doors open, which is also where they eat. They have free roam of the house, & when hubby's not home my girl will come up on my bed with me to watch me use the computer & chill. My 7 month old male is too rammy to allow on the furniture, although when he's tearing around the house he sometimes uses my sofa or bed like the banked turn of a racetrack! When I'm more confident of his manners he will have his privledges expanded. If hubby's gone overnight my girl will sleep on my bed, but by invitation only, and she usually sneaks off in the middle of the night to do a quick patrol, then parks herself at the bedroom door, halfway out into the hall, where she can keep an eye on everything. She's the anal one in our house, btw, my husband calls them German Shedders (or holy terrors, monsters, land gators, etc.) jo

I have 2 gsd's my female is a part time house dog. Right now she is in the kennel because she is going thru one of her 2 major sheds. Plus we just had our third child so thing are pretty hectic. When she is in the house no sleeping on the bed. She is not allowed in the kitchen while we are eating or cooking. If it were up to my kids she would sleep in one of their beds, but she does have a leather chair that she has claimed as hers. Like 4pack im a clean freak and vacuum everyday.

Blitz is an only child. He eats in the kitchen, lives in the house, is contained with an Invisible Fence and sleeps in his own bed or on the floor. And, yes, he too is a German Shedder so the Dyson gets a daily workout. If we weren't retiring in 2 years and living fulltime in an RV, I'd have another in a heartbeat.

We have 4 all together, and most eat in their crates, it's quite comical to watch the three of them make a mad dash to their respective "houses" for dinner.  We usually have at least one in bed with us, and it's usually the youngest who's taken up shop as bed dog.  The others sleep on the floor or in their crates with the doors open mind you.  When we are gone the youngest still says in the crate, don't know what they'd all do together!  The other two GSD's are loose when we are gone, I'm sure sleeping on the bed in front of the A/C!  They have a someone small fenced yard to run around in.  But, they can make laps around the garage!  Then the old lady (16 1/2 dobie mix) stays gated in the kitchen when we are at work, because hey, we all won't be able to hold it that long anymore when we are that old!  And yes, my dyson get a daily workout too.  But, I love having them all in the house, they are my companions first and foremost.  Hope to have a kennel run soon, because they do like to be outside too!  They would be on the spoiled side, but in the end, they "sometimes" know that they are dogs!  Of course, as I'm writing this two are lounging on the bed!  When I first got married, I tried not having the dogs on the bed, but that lasted all of about a month I think.

They live indoors, sleep in the living room, eat in the kitchen.

We have 6 dogs at present, 3 adults and 3 8 month old pups. When we are at work, the 3 pups and one adult are in their pens (kennel runs) and the 2 older girls are inside the house (usually asleep on the lounge in the kitchen!!)

When we are at home, everyone pretty much is inside together, except for when they need a toilet break. We have 1/3 of an acre fenced as our house yard (we are on 5 acres) and the dogs have free rein there. It has 6ft high chain link fences and some colourbond sections for privacy from the road.

All of the dogs sleep in our bedroom and now that it has gotten quite cold at night, our 8 year old girl generally ends up on the bed at some stage after we are asleep. They all have either their own bed or crates. The only place that is off limits is my partners daughter's room, because they tend to steal her toys and for some reason she doesn't like to get them back all sloppy and masticated!!!

We split them into 2 lots when they are being fed, one lot are fed on our verandah and the other lot in the kitchen, but who is fed where changes with each meal. Last night we had 5 fed in the kitchen and one outside because that's where they were when the feeds were made up!

We have slate floors throughout the house, no carpet at all, so I have to vacuum and/or sweep every day (or every few hours sometimes!) to keep up with the hair and the dirt that is tracked in from our yard. I would not have it any other way.

My dog sleeps on the floor next to my husband (grrr) lol, he never got up on the furniture or beds when we got him so I never encouraged it since it can get pretty uncomfortable with a big dog stretched out in a bed with 2 adults.  Not to mention the dog hair would be everywhere despite the fact he gets brushed regularly; there's just no stopping it.  He eats in the garage in the winter and on the back deck now that the weather is nice.  He has free roam of the house and fenced yard but with the heat he prefers to be indoors.  We only have the one dog.

My dogs live in the house, 1 of them sleeps on her own chair because she practically destroyed it when she was a puppy (it was 1 of our family room chairs lol), the other had a pillow she slept on. We feed them in the kitchen with 24/7 access to water. No fences, they just stay in the yard when we let them out.

<>I'm with Don on this one! LOL  (for the most part)

My adult female sleeps in my room, but refuses to sleep on the bed.  She will, however, get up there for a bit.  When the light goes out, she gets down on her own! :)  My adult male sleeps with my middle daughter, but he has his own futon bed! LOL  And her Maligator is only 5 mo old, so she still sleeps in a crate at night, but in her room.   I have 2 crates in the house that I alternate the other 6 pups in.  They each stay in the house for a few days at a time.

The adult dogs eat on the porch, and pups are fed in their kennels to avoid any fighting.  They all have the run of the yard (almost an acre fenced in).  And in 3 more weeks we move to our new house with 3.5 acres of fenced yard, over 150 acres to play on when the crops aren't planted and nice new outdoor kennels! :)
