2 longer angle

Imagine the horizontal line that passes through the elbow joint

Spot the fore chest development protrusion point

See

The longer the pink line the longer the front upper arm

I will do for a steep front upper arm for comparison

One note here for fairness, picture angle of the left dog is a little better of the right one, but it is obvious the angle of front upper arm of the left one is much better, though right one's front upper arm length is good and allover he is a very very beautiful dog.

Lines and angles drawn are approximate, others might draw them slightly different but concept would remain same, experienced people do not need those lines, they would immediately spot the better shoulder, even without touching the dog, judges do that in shows.

For any further clarification, consider me at your service, nice topic.

Some people, in order to determine quality of front upper arm ange, imagine these lines, the horizontal length gives a hint, the longer the better. Different way but same principle.

I just thought of a simple nice way,

Blue for front upper arm length

Red for front upper arm angle

Ibrahim. i am a CATIA user and i tried doing a motion analysis based on yr angles my analysis was a bit lazy but interestingly an exaggerated open shoulder does seem to place more stress on second joint. the ideal angle may also inhibit acceleration and agility . i didn't connect a rear end to my model so it was a bipedal dog. not reading anything into it as my model was a bit shit.
