Mac ...
Yes the posters [ except for a few like Gustav ] did not exactly reply to your initial post and questions . That is because IMOp many have not seen nor do they know about , any information that would allow them to answer those questions . Every weekend there is a show in Germany . Anybody and Everybody in the the know [ in Germany or those that get the results of the shows ] , knows pretty well who the TOP DOGS are well before the Sieger Show !. They know exactly what each Judge likes and prefers and what the Judge will place . Here in the USA ,thius is much different [ I don't know about the other countries but bet it is likewise ] you can probably , if that , get a handful of people that even follow those shows in Germany , never mind following the shows in the USA . People cannot comment on what they are not knowledgeable about . They simply don't know [ all about ** ] those dogs that are entred in the Sieger Show ...
One time nearing the Sieger Show , my friend, an SV Judge, and I went to a Regional Show in Germany . The moment we got to the ring within 15 seconds he turned and asked me what dog place 1st . I immediately turned to him and said that male . He replied to me " the male standing next to him on the left will win ". Who came in first ? The male he selected and the one that came in second was the male standing next to him that I picked. MY fgfirtend knerw everything aboutnthe dog he selecfted , the sire the dam , the other progeny m the aunts , iuncles and so forth . He educated me like no one wpoiulod believe how much he knew about also manyniother prominent VSA and high V rated dogs. In the USA we simply do not folow that closely the GSm. I doubt that manyb peole in the USA can talk about the USA stalk of GS like he did to e about the dogs in Germany . So Mac it is not the sole intention to put down or degrade the GS or people that show them . AS A matter of fact I emapthise as to your outlook .. However who I put thisnlackmof anwering your qiestionnis not ontonthe oposters but innthe USA the GS Clubs. The United Schutzhujd Clubs of ASmwertica , all thjose Sch clubs that [ at tleast the ones that Inhaqve visited !!!] ought to be ashamed of themselves in the Showing of the GS aspect. THAT is where the problem lies. There are just about no more showing mentors , no more people that discuss breeding plans. They have no motivation nto do this , they have no vision . The Mentors are all gone. People are aimed towardsone thing Mack ... that is to make money fast from the GS - The National Clubs are not led by Mentors , there is no sharing of knowledge anymore to the showing or the breedingof the GS . I repeat , people cannot give opinions on what they do not know ...
That probably being the state of affairs ... The posters ,as a generality , only could see and evaluate what they saw in the videos. New blood ..... there will always be kennels that have their ups and downs .. Some of the prominent kennels that we have seen in the past we hear about still today and others we do not hear about .
But to be fair to you Mack for starting a thread .. I will share my opinion for you : The days where we see the dynasties like the Ursus , Yasko and Larus lines that dominated the Sieger Shows are IMOp are long gone . New names will IMOP be the future . So as Gustav writes in the generality the same 'ol . The more things change the more they tend to stay the same. The structure may tweak a bit as goes the philosophies of the rear having changed nover the years and the crackdown on the oversized GSs . We will IMOp hear new names of dogs and kennels as everyone tries to jump on the band wagon of creating that million dollar GS . But the SV will continue to do what it has always done.... what is best for them**..... and not to much for the GS .
Ps ... One year ago I showed my Male GS . The SV Judge was floored by him .. and other saw me handle the dog as well as the dog himself . One party asked me beforte the show to critique his dog . SonI gave him the low down : pigment , head , angulations , proportions , expression , the whole nine years . I stated the croup is slightly long but this dog is exceptional [ this dog I knew would /could go VA in USA] . The handler of the dog had handled many dogs in many top shows and in his point of view was well experienced. The dog should have placed first but was placed second. WHY ... because the way he was shown . And the way he presented ,he was handled and he was shown was predicated in how the dog was taught. The handler and the owners , did not know , what they didn't know ! So , I told them what they did not do correctly in teaching the dog , whynthe dog did whatbhe did , and what to do and how to do better with the dog. Showing : people simply lack the knowledge .. Mack .... IMOp , this is one wee little story that represents the state of affairs and why no one did not answer directly some of your questions ....

Mackenzie
Will they bring worthy working dogs to high places based on what they offer to the breed?
there are no "worthy working dogs" in show breeding by default. i never seen even single SL dog who could show at least slight hint of suitability to be acceptable in any useful application other than oversized toy dog.
if it will make you feel better - even GSDs of today's so call working breeding, very, very rarely produce the dogs, being worthy to look at. 90% (or maybe more) of those "work" dogs, being bumped into scenario/circumstances, different from used in training, will be running away exactly, as a dog in video i posted earlier. but at least some of them can be used where courage isn't necessary part of work.
and you're very wrong, saying " thread has been hijacked and consumed with the bite work again". bite is integral part of dog's nature, regardless of breed and all video, posted by Irina are about bite work, which supposedly should demonstrate dog's boldness and tough temperament.
your initial question just doesn't have any merit in it. it's just your wish for something impossible.
