I understand your clarification, but it further supports the wrong mindedness of the SV. The whole purpose of structure enhancing efficiency and endurance stems from the breed originally being bred as a herding dog. So now you have dogs that move very efficiently with endurance but have zero genetic obedience or capacity to herd. The herding titles are just show dogs with herding titles. They are nothing like the true herding lines which all but gone. Then the breed was developed as a potential military/police dog and the show line structure, not to mention weak temperament makes those dogs unsuitable for that type of work.

it's a classic case in which - if you saw one dog, you may consider that you already have seen all of them.
apple, these dogs unfit to eat raw meat and you expect them to go as far as to do the work? you're very much optimist.

I like Quenn. I think this dog can work, so far best bite work from VA dogs. He has passion, desire and I love what I see.Much better than his father, mother side prevailed here. There is more dogs like him, and not everything is lost.

Irina, a very entertaining video. I enjoyed watching it!
Cent, I read back and see your comment and agree I tend to look for the positive. My friends say my glass tends to never be half empty, but always over flowing. But in all fairness to that dog Kaspar, I saw an admirable job in his performance. That’s why I point out the behavior upon the out exercise so there is an understanding why he acts different after coming off the sleeve than the other dogs. His problem is with his out and rebites, so his home helper fixes this with the use of the stick. It is the constant reminder to the dog that he can still be punished in the absence of his handler. I noted the dog look at the stick arm and then go tag the sleeve elbow. That’s a common response when worked with the stick correction. He has but three commands to get out or he’s DQ and there’s a lot at stake.
I read a lot of stuff of the show lines. Sure, not my kind of dog. Very few dogs are for that matter. I won’t say it is higher standard, I just have a different standard. But I am curious what these show lines are doing that has a direct impact on the production of the working dog. Are they responsible for the decline, if any within the working stock? How do these dogs influence the working breeder on testing, selecting and reproducing and preserving their own lines?

The construction of the dog is not conducive for a working dog and can lead to ligament damage and unsoundness. Much the same as an athlete or other sportsman. The flying trot, introduced by Hermann Martin, is a spectacular and that is all it is good for. A true working dog must work many hours in the day and that is why the endurance test (AD) was introduced from the beginning of the breed, to demonstrate stamina. The flying trot expends stamina at an alarming rate for a working dog. During the judging it is impossible for a Judge to assess a group of dogs against each other at the speed of the flying trot. Pure bunkem.

I agree with old shatterhand about him.
