Because that's not how a person that cares about you would treat you.
Cause he kicked your dog, threatened your friends and beat you.
Your dog deserves better than that. So do your friends.
And so do you.

Because there's no point in spending your only life with someone who doesn't like you, when there are plenty of people who DO. And because you would rather spend your time with nice people. It's your only shot, missy, so make it good and have FUN. This six month fiasco is an ADVENTURE and yes, you will look back on it like "How did I ever work up the nerve to do that? I'm so brave!"

Thanks guys.  Only one set of footsteps in the sand lately.
Later this year, when Bijou gets a V in the FH (har dee har har har) and Jed is a Sieger or something, this will seem... uhhh... ummm... uhhh... a lot less scary and depressing than it is right now?
Auntie Shelley is an absolute coward when it comes to winter weather.

I hope you are taking notes although most of what you have written would suffice.  You will have to write a book someday.  Maybe they will make a movie about your trip.  Winter weather is a bear but you don't need to be afraid.  Someone will always step up and help you if you let them.  Don't be afraid to ask for help while on the road.  Some of our best memories are of strangers coming to our rescue and us letting them help when we were almost too proud to let them.  You will get home with all your dogs and marbles.
Hugs!

Feeding, loading, driving. (far I HOPE!)  We got some snow up here last night, but the news says they main throughfares will be okay shortly. Perhaps one of ya'll who call me on the road can post progress, or lack of it, here.
The Red Roof Inn here in La Vale has been wonderful to me. The handy man drove me to get food, to the auto repair shop, to Tractor Supply for dog food. Staff stopped by just to pet dogs and chat so I wouldn't be alone the whole time. Bobbie, from Blue and Gray Towing went the extra mile each of the 4-5 times I the van and dog trailer had to be moved, called to check and see I had something to eat, status of the van, etc.  I hope we encounter more such community the rest of the way West.

Maybe if I shower last thing before hopping in the van they'll be more likely to let me have 6 dogs in one room at the next motel, eh?
Can't hurt.

Later,
SS

Well,
Is she on the road or not?

Just wondering.

I hope you have put several miles behind you Shelley.  Let us know how it's going.  Hope you don't overdo and pull over often to rest.

Stop complaining! Get a freaking job and pay for your own things, stop asking for everyone to help you out of your situations. People will always have problems in their lives, and I am sure what you are going through is not that uncommon. You have an i-phone, things cannot be that bad financially!

Awe come on, why not let her get to where she needs to be before you start the rib-kicking, seeing as she's seen a lot of ground- time at the moment? Keep the mood happy, yeah? Think of this thread as an adventure blog that some enjoy and encourage, (even if you don't).
