after one to many Heineken's my mind starts to wander. would they (the topic) be considered the same thing, only different species? I would also like to hear from people in other countries(outside of the United States) if they have the same issues where they live. Are there animal rights groups in other places like we have here.
lets take it a step further. your bitch comes into heat and you miss it. your male gets her pregnant. you dont want the litter, for whatever reason, and you abort. does this make you pro-choice?
with all the topics about PETA, et al., i would like to get some other view points.

#1 I think so
#2 Yes you used your right to choose.
#3 Peta as I know them are a bit radical in their veiws and tactics.
I dont understand the BSL v racial profiling.
Maybe I need a Heineken's.

racial profiling is the inclusion of racial or ethnic characteristics in determining whether a person is considered likely to commit a particular type of crime. similar to breed specific ligislation. " its a pit bull and used for dog fighting so we are going to make a law and ban all pit bulls. "
the main problem I see with all of this is, it starts with one breed and then they want to make it for all.
I find it interesting how far people will go to defend their dogs, some even calling them "my kids", then when you add the human side to it (the pro-choice issue), they all the sudden tell you "there just dogs" or "you cant compare dogs to humans"
this is just some of the "issues" i was discussing with some other dog people recently and was wondering what others thought.

As far as BSL vs Racial profiling, I think they are the same but for different species. Dogs should be judged based on their individual temperament and their owners ability to control them. People should be judged based on their actions, not their race.
As far as the pro choice thing, it's not the dog making the choice so I don't think it's the same thing.

Here's to Heineken! Everyone have a few more-then we can have a fisticuff over the questions--then a few more yet, & we'll all be hugging & crying...'I love you, man'.........racial profiling is bad, breed specific legislation is bad, no problems there. Yep, those two concepts are in the same ballpark. Prochoice? I'm anti-abortion, but prochoice. It makes sence to me. I think being 'human' starts at conception, & is sacred...but I sure as hell do NOT want any politician telling me what I can or can't do with my healthcare, body, etc.. I would not, if we had an 'oops!', get the pregnancy terminated. Pups are pups from conception, too, & if we had an accident, it would be my responciblity to care for them & find them good homes( if I could even part with them) jh

Bottoms up ! Kalibeck,
Actually, personally, I prefer a touch of the herb. Man I loved the 60's. PEACE!
You make alot of sense Kalibeck, as usual at least in America people blame the gun and not the shooter. Breed specific bans are just a chicken shit way of skipping around the harder issue of holding animal owners accountable for the actions of they're animals. I know people who keep dangerous wild animals and are not under any controls at this point. Government never has had any sense, only the ability to blow correctly with the wind. BSL is just another mass of gas moving at high velocity. Maybe better choices at the polls can correct a little of this but I doubt it. All people need to speak up and be heard not just the few.
Racial profiling is much more complicated. It has some merit depending on the situation. Its easily abused I grant you. I cant compare it to BSL however. I think the word racial is what makes this a hot debate. I think this is something that will not be resolved anytime soon. Your talking about law enforcement and military and you know they will do whatever {THEY }think is prudent. Yes its wrong to judge a group for the actions of a few. Hasn't history taught us anything?
Choice!! Yes lets always have a choice. If you dont believe in something live by that belief but dont impose your belief on others. Abortion is a hot topic in America, always has been. We have our own domestic terrorists who have killed and bombed over this issue. Radicals are not in short supply anywere these days.
I cant compare animals to humans in regards to having rights. I understand terrorism and the desparation that gives birth to it. I think certain use's of profile information is a tool that can be used or abused.
I have an answer for all the worlds ills, but you dont wanna know. You wouldnt like it. So I'll keep it to myself.
