Speaking of toilet paper, I noticed the larger packages of Scott single ply TP that were $8 before the COVID19 panic, when they finally came back onto the shelves they were $10. Now it is $12 for fewer square inches in the package. Holy cow, that is 50% inflation right there!
The TP brand I use is still the same price, though alas the rolls are smaller/fewer squares inches per package.
Many packaged of foods have dramatically shrunk, for the same price or now at even a higher price.
Meat is becoming outlandish. I rarely buy any type of meat, though I have always looked at prices out of curiosity.
My place in line to have one of my own cows butchered is October. And they gave me that date a couple of months ago. We used to be able to do this same week, if lucky, though certainly the next week.
One of the local ranches, on the north side of the river, is now selling hamburger by the pound. Only hamburger. At $8 a pound.
Sadly, I have had to resort to shopping Amazon for some basic food stuffs that I have not seen on the shelves here since March.

Yup, for all the financial hardship this virus is causing some people, there are certainly those who are profitting from the situation. Whether that is just trying to make up losses caused by lockdown &c or whether it is sheer profiteering from a bad situation may be debateable in some cases, but clearly in some others there are those who have no conscience whatsoever about what they are doing.
Maybe they need to remember, if the pandemic gets really out of hand and wipes us all out, "you can't take it with you".

They cannot do to us that which we do not allow them to do." Yet, en masse, mankind has rolled over & played along, allowing them to steam roll over us.
I agree with you Hundmutter, that a great transfer of wealth is occurring. Too much of it in some very less than moral ways.

That's right, just blame me for the new world wide run on TP, even though there is no election in your country.

The lock downs are to squash the little guy and big companies come in and scoop up the real estate, creating monopolies where none existed before...remember; never let a good crisis go to waste!

Shame upon Trump for allowing this plandemic to occur.
The rich have gotten richer, the poor poorer.
Trump should have fired Fauci's arse long ago. IMO, Fauci is another that deserves to be in jail, for how his fingers are all over COVID-19. Is he not the one that illegally sent it to the Chinese lab?
America is projected to be 8 BILLION meals short for the poor over this upcoming coming year. That is right, billion, with a B.

seems you're confusing Taiwan and Hong Kong (which wasn't part of mainland China) at that time.
i wasn't during Reagan time citizen of free world but i did catch the time with changes of policies of West (under Clinton's led USA) toward communist China. that's when mass exodus of domestic manufacturing from US and Canada got its catastrophic pick.

Unfortunately, firing fau-xi is not POTUS' job. I think he doesn't have theauthority to.
Fau-xi helped create the wohan flu virus.
How was Pres Trump supposed to stop the virus? At least he cut off flights coming from chiiinaaa, and then from eu.
This gives some insight to scummy fau-xi
