Dental Notation - Page 1

 

Hey everyone, Just wanted to get some feedback on my females bite. I just imported here a few months back and her breeder says she will pass her kkl. I am concerned she might not but i dont have any experience as she is my first dog I am getting surveyed. Please let me know your thoughts.

Looks like a normal 'scissor' bite, on apparently a nice bitch overall (as much as can be told from one still photo on her pedigree page). Do YOU think there's a problem ? If so, what ?
Have you counted that ALL her teeth are present ?

Thanks for the reply. All her teeth are there my concern in on her right side her canines dont mesh like they should. They overlap per se.
I guess I dont know if thats from genetics or an injury and if i should be concerned with breeding her and passing her kkl

Her bottom canine when mouth is closed goes behind her top canine

Having peered carefully at that particular spot, I think you just have a case of slightly crooked growth on the R/H side; probably not enough to worry about as far as Korung is concerned (unless Susie, or someone else here with experience of the German system, thinks otherwise about it ?) Cannot see any UK Surveyor failing a dog on this one. Or at least not on that point when all else is all right. The Standard asks for correct bite and correct numbers of teeth, never seen any actual rules about canine or molar teeth a little out of position, as long as they are present and not doubled or whatever.

As to the cause, genetic or accident ? Possibly genetic, can't think of any accidental blow to the mouth or whatever that would result in this slight readjustment of teeth position.
