Hello all, I am looking at buying an import GSD. I was looking at Zauberburg kennels, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this breeder. (spelling may be wrong,sorry. He is in AZ) Thanks

" endquote One of the problems is that with dogs, we're dealing with living beings. It's not like a car or a washing machine that will always perform the same given the same set of circumstances. Your "just has enough drive to get by" dog might end up being deemed a "crazed monster" in my kennel, just because of our different expectations and different circumstances. We all have different expectations out of any individual dog. As far as rating breeders, that's a very tricky subject. I would never knowingly sell and ill or deformed animal. However, I have no control over what circumstances the animal is really going into, no matter how carefully I screen buyers. There is a lifetime hip guarantee on my animals. But, if the buyer keeps the animal 20 lbs overweight, then I'm going to be VERY hard nosed about a 100% money back refund. Is that person going to then scream about me not meeting my contractual obligation? (ha! Weight is built into my contract ) Heck, I know someone who tried to get the 100% refund from another breeder for bad hips. The darned dog had been hit by a CAR!!! Another breeder told me about a sick puppy that had been returned. Too bad the owners didn't tell her that the puppy snacked on anti freeze before they returned it. OUCH. I realize this is straying far from the topic of buying an import. Sorry about that. But the concept of an agency where breeders can be rated is an idea that I like IF we also have an agency where buyers can be rated! JDN - US
