Tanner is looking for a rescue, possibly a sanctuary to spend his days, with people who are patient and understanding. This boy has stolen the hearts of NCAC staff. Please contact Dana for additional info.

Cross-posting from Facebook... from what I gather from the comments he has spent his life in a trash-filled outdoor kennel... doesn't know what people are about/poorly socialized, etc. I know there are some people from that area on here, so maybe they'd be able to help the poor guy. :(

I'm not a rescue...I'd go get him though and keep him until a "real" rescue could get him. Would they let him go if I was considered a transport??? Whatever we can do to buy him time.

The lady who original posted him, Dana, made this comment on the post...

" He has not shown one bit of aggresion. And when he is out with me, he just seems lost. Yesterday I started petting his head and no response. He actually stood still today while I petted him. I think he is starting to like it :-). My animal control works only with rescues but if someone is interested in adopting, I have rescues that will work to faciliate that. I just dont have the manpower or resources to do adoptions. But the rescues have been great. We have a rescue working with someone right now on one of our dogs."

So I dunno... sounds like? Worth a shot.

Dana is a friend of mine. I just emailed her.
If you can take him for a bit I can pull the dog.

What's "a bit" ?

I need facts- I have a toddler, small dogs, intact males, smallish house, not good for separating, which is why I said I'd take him if I'm considered a transport and he's going to be taken into rescue. Let me know what the logistics would be. Aren't you in Chicago? Would it be safer/quicker if you picked him up?

I'm also in Chicago. I can hold onto him until a foster or rescue takes him in.

Oh, wonderful! More options, the better. Poor old guy.

Does he need to be pulled immediately? If he needs to go today or tomorrow (I know it says urgent, but often they will hold them longer if they know they're getting picked up- I'm not a total moron, lol) it would be better if you or OGBS could get him. My son is quite sick at the moment and we'll likely be at the doctor's or urgent care much of the day. Let me know via email, not on here. I won't be checking this if I'm at the doctor's.

Don't have your email.
I spoke with Dana this morning.
It will be better if I handle it.
Thanks!

OGBS, bless you for helping out. My heart aches for that poor dog!  Sad Smile

By "it will be better if I handle it", he means, the dog is not going to be handed over to anyone but a bona fide rescue. We've tried unsuccessfully. Steve can get him pulled through his rescue.

Fingers crossed he gets out soon and ends up somewhere nice, no somewhere he'll sit in a crate.
