I believe I read that tripe was good for the dogs;  does that include all Tripe or just green tripe??  I have found some frozen tripe cut into cubes for easy handling frozen in a bag?  Will that be OK and take the place of green tripe?  I am still trying to find canned Tripett around here so far no luck.  Some places are listed on their site but do not stock it.  I do understand that fresh/frozen is better;  is it the enzymes or what?

Green tripe has the nutritional benefits, bleached tripe is not appropriate to feed, all the nutrients have been removed.  www.aplaceforpaws.com , www.taylorpondfarms.com  or www.greentripe.com  are all places you can order fresh(frozen) from, depending on your locale.
Shipping can be pricey, but many of these distribute. If you don't feed more than a heaping tablespoon per meal, it lasts longer so the price isn't so bad.
The above links also have information on the benefits of green tripe(gullet).
This is a great article(from aplaceforpaws)

Once upon a time, my meat supplier accidentally sent me a case of bleached white tripe. He sent my box of nasty green tripe to a Mexican restaurant by accident. Oh man, they must have been in shock when they opened that box. I threw all the white stuff away.

Hey if anybody is in the Sacramento area, I actually have way more green tripe than I can use. PM me. It's in 70lb boxes.

Mine all just got a big stinky green tripe dinner............  Happy dogs.

If anybody would have told me a few years ago I would be cutting and packaging fresh green tripe (the whole thing, three cows worth last time) and freezing it for the dogs, I would have told them they were nuts.     I have a good portion of one freezer with packages of green tripe right now.    The things we do for our dogs.

I have a bunch of tripe- elk and beef both. I will ship it for what it costs to ship, or you can pick it up. Another idea if you are far away is to ask for bids on Uship.com to bring it to you.

I get huge quantities at a time, then sometimes nothing for a few weeks, but I do have a regular supply of super high quality, guaranteed the freshest you will find, tripe. PM me if you're interested.

I feed tripe from   http://www.greentripe.com/  because I believe it to be the best I can buy.  It's organic and from grass fed cattle.  Another source for frozen tripe is Bravo: http://www.bravorawdiet.com/bravoretailers.html and another is Oma's Pride:  http://www.omaspride.com/Retailers.htm

I have been ordering from GreenTripe.com for a few years now.  It arrives on my doorstep frozen rock hard.  I usually order 40 pounds in one pound chubbs so that it is easy to deal with.

Vom Marischal, where does your Green Tripe come from?  I am in Northern Marin County, not too far from Sacramento.

Animules and Jenni78:  VERY cool that you have access to fresh.  I've never been in that position, but I hear it's the absolute best way, hands down, bar none.

The dogs have their own seperate freezer for the animal parts. I would have never though in a million years I would have cut up and fed some of the nasty stuff I have. Hubby said it's a no go about keeping that stuff in the house. LOL.

Michele, I got my tripe from a friend who runs cattle and who gets them slaughtered down by Merced. It's called Cutting Edge meats, and you can get it green but they also have the tripe washing equipment so you need to contact them before they do it.
Also, they are not always very nice to raw feeders; I don't think we buy the quantity that makes us worthwhile, although I did get about a ton once for a bunch of local feeders. It's only rumor, but I did hear that they were interested in selling offal again to pet people. Might be worth a call.
