Ok, now that I have been told I was not doing the breed any good by the first possible pedigree, what about this one?  I am ready for what this one will bring....

Isn't it strange how people are quick to to point out what they consider mistakes or "doing no good for the breed". However when its the opposite, no one gives credit where credit is due. I knew what the first pedigree I posted was, just as I know what this one is. Just interesting how how things work out....

The first  post had 28 hits and then it was on....This post 118 views ..and not one comment yet.....I think I proved my point...People can be so cruel.

by VomMarischal on 11 April 2010 - 11:04

Cruel? I'm not clear what point it is you think you are making. How is it cruel to view a pedigree and not have anything useful to add? I recognized some of the dogs' names, but it's not like I ever MET the dogs, so how would I (or many others) know anything besides what's on the PDB link?  How would I know if a dog is a good worker or has ball drive or has EPI or anything else? You want people to contribute SPECULATION? You just have to wait for people who actually know the dogs but who are busy out training.

...besides that you don't make it easy for people by making the pedigree a working link. If you are being impatient,  you can imagine how many people are just being lazy.

LOL.....another sad case. Read the original thread for the details.

I think this pairing is much better, In MY OPINION, but how is this just another sad case?

Yes, some people are out training, but like me and YOU we are not..

I bet V Stephanitz would be so proud of all of us....Not that I have to,  but in a figure of speech.,  "some people can never be pleased...."

I love all of you guys and all of your wonderful knowledge you bring to this forum... Keep up the good work...

This is my last response to this topic as I have had enough entertainment.  NOW I will go work with my dogs.

P.S. whether you guys realize it or not, EVERY time someone does a breeding, its a gamble and a risk, REGARDLESS of which two animals they breed together.

Um....DUH? Gee, I bet you're the first person who ever thought of that!!!!!!

i suppose i am one of the "cruel" ones.  i am just now getting online.  its been a busy weekend.  like v.m. i cannot comment on the dogs in this new pedigree from personal experience, but from reputation, i would predict a litter from that breeding to be more of a success.  the previously proposed breeding would have been such an outcross that there could not have been any reliability in what the results would be.  at least here, both dogs come from working back grounds.  i was serious when i said that your female has a very nice pedigree.  that is the only reason why i have taken an interest in your topics.  in the past, she has been bred to males who were totally unsuitable for her.  give her a chance to prove her worth.  get her hips and elbows checked.  put some training and maybe a title on her.  when you do decide to breed her, choose a male that will enhance her good traits and compensate for her failings.  set yourself up for success instead of failure.

From above: "whether you guys realize it or not, EVERY time someone does a breeding, its a gamble and a risk, REGARDLESS of which two animals they breed together."

Your quote is partially correct and it is all the more reason to ask intelligent questions and BREED SELECTIVELY after one has done their homework and has MINIMIZED the gamble and risk. You said yourself that the female is not even OFAed at 6 years of age. Surely you could have done that by now, and if not, you could do it now and wait to breed. But, no, you are in too big a hurry to find a stud and hope someone here, anyone here, whether they know shit from shinola, will say...."Oh yes, that would be a great matchup" (as have some of your friends who also defended someone else doing the same kind of pointless breeding).

For someone to say they have been breeding and breeding over 30 years and not know how to decide whether a given dog is a good match, suggests that not much came of all those years. For someone to even consider breeding dogs without minimal health checks says even more. It is just knowing that it is always a risk that means one should do EVERYTHING in one's power to understand temperament, health, and bloodlines before they put dogs together to simply make more puppies. You don't know what it means to "do the breed" any good, nor do you likely care.

And cruel? Because all of us who really do care don't jump up and bless your questions or litters? You have to be kidding. You want absolution and none of us will give it unless you do your homework. If you TRULY want to know something, then learn to ask a real question instead of posting a post with some lame ass pedigree and asking us whether this is a good pedigree or not. No, you cannot know all the bloodlines in the world, but you can assure your dogs have minimal health certifications, are not too young, and have someone ELSE evaluate them for temperament etc. Then you can post an intelligent question and TELL US WHAT YOU KNOW AND WHY YOU WOULD EVEN CONSIDER MATING THE TWO DOGS?  What a novel concept. If you want blessings, yes, look elsewhere because here the dearth of only a few responses from mostly people who are also new here should tell you something about your question to begin with.

Cruelty is breeding for the wrong reasons and simply making more pups for the hell of it, and just because one can.
