I presently feed my training dogs one thighleg quarter at 6:00am and 3 cups TOW at 6:oo PM.
My questions this why feed necks and backs that have very Little meat but are slightly less expensive and not thighleg quarters that have more meat and skin and probably more bone (or at least as much) and same amount of skin. Is it just cost effectiveness or is there a feeding reason.
A friend of mine who feeds all raw wrinkled up her nose when I mentioned that I feed all leg thigh quarters and was just wondering.

No issue. Leg quarters are great. But remember to feed organ sometimes too.

If you can find them, some chickens will come with a bag of giblets, neck, heart, kidneys etc which the hound also gets.

Kidneys from a pork chop I'll give and if you can find it beef heart is great. We used to be able to buy it from a local abbatoir but it's now tough to get hold of in the UK.

They are pretty fatty, raw or cooked, and would only feed say, once a month to dogs who don't have a delicate digestion.

Bob: I feed chicken frames w/ necks, which are the carcass minus legs, wings, breast. They are very meaty, easy to digest, and a great source of cartilage, though having said that, if chicken was the sole RAW protein I was feeding, I wouls probably switch to quarters.
I would suggest if you are going to go 100% RAW, you feed various protein sources and also add in tripe and organs.
