It,s not rocket science or you don,t need to recreate the wheel.
But good luck on your endeavor.

first thing i would do is drop the word sport. sport to me implies rules, structure, and a routine. real life does not play by these rules. who has not heard someone say "schutzhund is a sport, anyone can teach a dog a routine" . as for ring sports, the same can be said for them. mondioring can have different setups each time, so you may never know what you are going to run into, but exercises are still set. dont know much about knpv, but am told its a good test.
a dog is what a dog is. u can train them to do anything (within the limits of the dog).
as far as showing police. i had a few people tell me my male should have been a police dog. i finally got his sch3. he now has 3 progeny with badges or in training and soon to get them. the dog showed me he had the ability, and luckily he produced it. producing it is more important than having it (from a breeders perspective).
let me know what some of your ideas are and i will see if i can shoot holes in them. LOL.
