For all the show people out there. Can a dental notation only be done at a conformation show or can it be done at a club trial, or is it up to the judge himself? The judge is a Kormeister and did judge both the trail and show.

Thanks

A dental notation may only be done by a Koermeister, but it can be done at a show, or any event, including club events where he/she is present and is agreeable to making the notation on official paperwork. Some clubs ask a small fee for doing this and the qualified judges normally will do it as a courtesy to help pay expenses for the event.

Some koermeisters will also do it, asked politley and nicely, even if the hosting club has not offered it. (DO ask an event official about it, before approaching the koermeister). I have had the dental notation done that way.

Yes, Mystere is correct. But sometimes the people hosting the event are irritated if one goes directly to a judge. We encouraged our guest judges to interact with any and all participants, but I made the mistake long ago of asking a judge directly without asking the event organizers and they were unhappy about that. So as not to ruffle feathers, Mystere's suggestion is a good one. With the very nice and friendly SV Koermeisters we have hosted, we found them eager to help in any way they could, including provide assistance after the events.
