Could be a sable, but if so, may be with red markings and not grey.

Thank you Starsmom. Just to let all know the pups parents colors are the dam is  a light  sable and sire is a black and tan. All the siblings in the litter came out to be  light sables and one black and tan. anyone else good at guessing the colors of Shepherds?

What a chunk!  I'm thinking dark sable but the change so much as the grow it's hard to say with sables but I'm thinking sable regarless of how dark he ends up.

I am sorry but none of the pictured dogs are sable. Something is wrong. Dam is a showline black and red and sire is a blanket black and tan. Where is the sable color supposed to come from? At least one of the parents have to be a sable in order to produce sable puppies. Maybe, you have a wrong photo of the dam?

Sitasmom advising on colour????? LMAO. She couldn't tell if a puppy she reared from birth was black and tan or black and gold so asked everyone else here.lol.
The original poster has already said they KNOW the puppy is a black sable!!!  Very nice healthy looking puppy no matter the end colour.

I have to agree with Silbersee, those two cannot be the parents of sable puppies......there must be some mistake either with the photos or at the time of breeding??
