AKGeorgias mom

by AKGeorgias mom on 13 March 2010 - 22:03

There was a thread a few weeks ago, that I won't resurrect, that had a lot of people contributing tips on training a good fuss.  Someone recommended holding the leash in the right hand, going behind your back, with a ball/tug under the left arm as a reward.  I will admit I am totally uncoordinated, but I tried this out today and got the best results of anything I've tried.  I usually don't get the timing quite perfect on corrections partly because I have arthritis in my hands, but that particular position allowed a faster correction when using my leg instead of my hands.

Thank you to whoever posted that useful tidbit!

I'm not the one that suggested it, but I LOVE that method because my hamstrings are a heck of a lot stronger than my hands! Good for you for trying something new!
