I am trying to find an old movie that had a German Shepherd in it. It was a main character. It's black and white, and it's location in the movie is Hollywood. I use to thing the name of it was Won Ton Ton, but when I put that in it only shows me the 1976 version. Description: The main actress is a floozy trying to become an actress no matter what, she's down on her luck until she meets a stray German Shepherd. It's been so long since I've seen it, but I so want to watch it again. Any ideas?

As far as I can tell, Won Ton Ton, The Dog Who Saved Hollywood, released in 1976 is not a remake.

Are you sure you are remembering correctly?

Beetree,
I think you are right it was Won Ton Ton.  If I remember correctly it starred Madeline Kahn and was at least partially in black and white.  I'm going to rent that movie this week, it was good for a laugh.

My curiosity is peaked as well, I'm going to have rent this one, too!  And if you read any of the reviews from back in '76 you can tell the person who wrote it really wasn't a dog person, LOL They preferred watching the actress, Madeline Kahn do some pretty good comedy acting. I wonder how this one escaped my radar?  I dont even think MTV had even been invented, I was probably too boy crazy to pay much attention, LOL  It wasn't until the following year we got see Saturday NIght Fever, or Star Wars, and we still hadn't heard about AIDS.

The 1976 film is loosely based on the Rin Tin Tin's debut. Rin Tin Tin was the name given to a number of GSDs featuring in older films and series in the 1930s. The film you mention may be the 1929 film Where the North Begins  with Claire Adams, but there are quite a few films - have a look on Wikipedia.
