I did have a rabbit that I really loved and when I had to put him down I kept a foot of his. I also do know someone that did get her dog stuffed. She just could not part with him and had him taxidermied (if that's a word) in a sitting position. I've thought about it and I just don't know until tht tme comes. How I feel then. Do I let him/her go or do I keep him/her with me forever in whataver position I choose.

I personaly wouldn't. It would sadden me too much that they couldn't do anything but just sit and stare. My aunt however.....I guess that her daughter had a cat.Well kitty got out and got hit by a car.SO my aunt had the kitten stuffed and gave it to her daughter for her bday. It didn't go over too well. I was told this story on a Thanksgiving with a bunch of family. That is when i came to the conclusion I had to be adopted or mixed up at birth!! There is no way I could be related to those people!! lol

From what I understand a very famous German Schutzhund competitor has one of his GSD's stuffed. A very well known dog that he competed in the BSP with several times. When you walk in the house the dog is in the foyer. I was told it's a little weird. I have thought of it but have never done it.

My younger sister had her Favorite Rooster stuffed. He was done really well and looks cool sitting on a hunk of wood.
I personally wouldnt do it, but she really loved that stupid Rooster.. It cost her a couple hundred bucks. (Or it cost her Boyfriend a few hundred bucks.. haha)

I mentioned it one time in the presence of my husband and kids and I got some interesting expressions. My husband said I needed comitted and my kids said I was morbid. lol I thought about it and yea it's probably a little weird and it sure would make that whole mourning process more difficult so I have actually considered cremation when the time comes. There's actually a place near me that's a pet cemetary that does them and it's more common than I thought. I just dred to even think of losing my boy Agar.

I watched that show last night also, I laughed the whole time, it was funny- the look on the woman's face was priceless-. Now I would never have any of my dogs stuffed but they will be cremated.
I told my husband last night that is what I am going to do with them. That way when I go they go with me.
