Ok this is a dumb question, I have a 13 mo. old that is in her second heat cycle, and this time she is bleeding very heavy. Her first one was at 8-1/2 mo. and it was light. Is this normal?
I have not had an intact female for over 12 years a
nd I don't remember them bleeding this heavy.
I do not plan on breeding her, and I am going to have her spayed, but I have heard that if you spay them before they are fully matured that it can bring down their drives, I don't know how true this is, but I am going to wait until she has one more heat as she will be going for her BH in May at 15 mo. and then I will spay her.
Thanks for any comments on this issue,
Kathy O.
