Does anyone ever use Bark Collars?  My dog barks non stop, it doesn't matter if you exercise her, work her, play with her, she barks at everything!!!  If a leaf fall off of a tree she is barking at it!!!  For the sake of my neighbors, I was considering a bark collar for her...  Recommendations anyone...

I use a sportdog bark collar for my one dog who likes to fence fight with the neighbor's dog.  I like this collar because it has 6 levels that increases by itself with eachbark within so many seconds.  So the first bark the dog gets a small correction if the dog keeps barking it jumps up the levels, if the dog stops, it starts back on the lowest level.  I never use it when I am not home, I would be worried about leaving any electric collar on a dog when not arround.

Its usually really effective on shepherds They generally shut right up and are not the type to fight a bark collar but you should use it as part of a comprehensive training program.  Always have the dog confined preferably the kennel outside when introducing the bark collar. Its important they conclude its their action thats causing the nick not you or the neighbors or whoever. I use the dogtra but I am somewhat indifferent about it .Tri tronics has been making them longer than anyone just don;t go get one from petsmart those don't work

I use the Dogtra bark collars. I got them as a birthday present several years ago. They are really awesome. They are rechargeable and have 7 levels. The levels are adjustable. The levels are not self adjusting, you are the one that sets what level you want to use,  I have had these collars for about 4-5 years and dont know what I would do without them.
This is the one that I have....(This is the large dog one)

Here is another one that Dogtra has...(this one is for medium/small dogs)

Our wonderful neighbor called the cops when we were not home one day and my girl was outside barking, so I bought the Tri tonics Bark Limiter. Being responsible, I started out on the lowest level (it has 5 levels) and my dog barked straight through it. I moved it up to level 2, no change, level 3, slight deterrent but no real change, and finally when I put it on level 4 it was an instantaneous result. After two or three barks on separate occasions at that level, she has not barked since. Yes, I will be the first to say she is already collar smart and barks like crazy unless and until I go out and put the collar on her, but once it is on, she won't bark at all. What I do is, since I am gone long hours for work, I bought a dummy collar (no electronics, no shock, just a simple plastic look alike box that is identical to the real tri tonics bark collar) and I put that dummy collar on her when I'm gone. She doesn't know it's not the real one and will not bark, and I do not have to worry about any malfunctions or ruining of the real collar. Just a thought.

When I had incessant barking with my adult  male, it was also neighbors, neighborhood cats, and yes leaves falling off trees LOL I hadn't heard of the better brand no bark collars, so I bought the one from Petsmart. It worked just fine, but I had to have it on the highest level.
Then my adult female became a problem barker, I put it on her for a few days, and had to rotate it because thry figure it out pretty quick when it's off.
Then a few days ago I had the two running in the back yard, ran inside for maybe 15 minutes and when I came back out my female had chewed the collar off my happy male and crushed the box! I swear they were just waiting fo me to run in for a minute. Dirty schemers....
So thanks to those of you who posted links for the better collars. Time for a new one :-) And the dummy collar is a great idea!
Thanks

i've used them all so far and the one that works slightly is the shock collar with 6 levels of shock with each bark wouldn't say it was 100% good though she still barks

LOL...  That is too funny!!!  Looks like I am going to invest in one, I would rather put that on her than to crate her part of the day/night.  Thanks everyone for the input...

The Tritronics XS is the best one I've ever had. I've this model for several years. It's small, easy to set the levels and will turn off on it's own when not in use. No charging necessary, as it uses a battery. It's a great price too.

Be sure that your dog is getting enough exercise and stimulation. You probably are, but just wanted to mention it.. ;-)

My bitch is the barker, high drive, so I got a nice dogtra bark collar.  In not too long she learned how to manipulate it to the side so it was not affective.  So I alternated it with an E collar so that she learned that it didnt matter if she shook it to the side or not, she was going to get zapped.  When she realized she could not escape the consequences she would lay down on the back deck resigned to the fact that she could not trust herself to go out in the yard where there was lots of activity to stimulate her.    Like Clint Eastwood would say, a mans got to know his limitations.
