A King Shepherd is a cross between the GSD, Malamute, and Great Pyr.  I have two friends that bought a pup each from the same litter.  These two pups look nothing alike.  Very friendly and outgoing.  These are unregistered pups and they paid $300 for them.

Structure is good.  They will be bigger than my GSDs obviously.  I personally wouldnt want one, because I am a GSD lover.  :)

Wikipedia: Two American dog breeders Shelly Watts-Cross, and David Turkheimer created this large breed from American and European German Shepherd dogs, Alaskan Malamutes, and Great Pyrenees. An official dog breed club was started in 1995.

It is classified as a rare breed under the ARBA. Shelly Watts-Cross was originally a breeder of Shioh shepherds, but wanted to 'do her own thing'. Shiloh breed founder, Tina Barber was not happy, and told her she could no longer use the Shiloh name. Thus, she decided to call her dogs King shepherds.  I think a court case was involved, but I'm not sure. Need to check my facts...

The Shilohs have a bit of Giant Malemute in them, but the Great Pyrenees strain was added by Shelly and David.

A word of caution: unscrupulous GSD breeders sometimes try to sell their oversized GSDs as King Shepherds. I would also beware of King Shepherds that didn't have papers. Lord knows what is mixed in with them!

I don't know much about the temperment of these dogs, or how carefully they are being bred. I'd do some careful homework on the breeder and the breed before buying one.
