Can't our dogs be really cute/silly when they want to? The outside world (not us folks owned by GSDs) picture our dogs as these big scary biting machines (which they can be...)  BUT I think they would be amazed to see how our dogs really can be. This morning started like always - up at 0-dark thirty, go out, feed the horses, (dogs are out "helping" - consists of running, chasing each other, and so on...) then back in to make my tea. This morning, my guys decided that they all had to be on their best cute/silly behavior. My 110lb boy wanted "looooove'' - I got his head in my lap(you could land a plane on his head), his paw over one leg, and the "eyes" - looking up with the white showing, and moaning. My youngest got her favorite toys and brought each one over in turn - each time she sat down in front of me and had the "cute face" on("OoooMom, look what I brought you !). My older girl threw herself on the couch next to me and flipped over on her back, looking like a dead bug, wagging her tail. They made me laugh... Just had to share

Flygirl55,
That is part of what makes it all worthwhile.  I would tell you some of the cute things my dog does, bit he gets embarassed when I show his sensitive side.  He has a reputation to uphold.  Good post, I can picture the the dog on her back like a dead  bug.  Very funny.

Drake always loved to steal small articles of clothing and play keep-away...  socks, gloves, undies, etc., pilfered from the laundry basket.  Well, when I moved, he got into the habit of sleeping on my bed during the day.  Not only do I have a white background quilt, I also fold laundry, lay out clothes, etc. and don't want him on my bed.  Instead of keeping the pocket door closed, I put up a gate that I can easily step over.  He could hop it with no problem but he knows why it's there, so he won't.  So, I'd catch him sitting with his big ol' head resting on the gate, looking longingly into my room, and I'd laugh at the drama, thinking he wanted up on the bed.  Well, it then sunk in that he also couldn't reach the laundry basket!  Yes, I know, it's a bad behavior that shouldn't be encouraged but we all have to have some fun.  So, I will leave socks on the floor in the living room on purpose and he swipes them immediatedly!  He also gives that "looking up with the whites of his eyes on the bottom" deal. we run around the dining room table for 10 minutes until he "gives up"  and drops the sock, letting me "win!"  What a silly boy.  BTW, he doesn't shred anything, just plays keep-away.

All the pictures are too funny! The GSD that I grew up with used to steal my father's DIRTY socks (peeeyeeewww) and stash them under my mother's side of the bed...??  If you haven't seen the video that's posted on the board, you must. It's absolutely hysterical. Of course, I would never show my dogs this - somehow they would figure out how to do that!
