Jesus that's a depressing story.

I agree that it is very sad, and we may never know all of the facts in this case. I hope that the dog is fully exonorated but realize this may never be the case. Two (2) things make me quite suspicious; (a) the dog was stabbed with a knife blade that was long enough to cause fatal wounds, and (b) one (1) boy left the scene and has not been seen since.

Regards,
Bob-O

Dog had been stabbed 48 times and shot innumerable times with the air soft guns. I have found this elsewhere.

The fact a knife was being carried at all says it all,  Is knife carrying legal and thought to be okay over there in the USA for if it is they have there priorities wrong
I find things very strange in some ways that if you can carry Firearms and knives about, but in some places as one on here says it is illegal to house a Dog out doors in a Kennel and Run, and if you own a dog it has to live in the house what are the priorities in that country all about, But regards the Dog above i think it is a case of wanton evil on the Guys involved but i guess the truth will never be known

I find it hard to believe you people side with a police dog over children in this case. This dog got outta his kennel and bit innocent children who were minding their own business playing.

I'm glad the kids had all their air soft gear on .. and by chance, one with a knife.

I remember in school, the police brought their dogs in to display narc searches and apprehension. The police left one dog in a car outside with the window down some and that dog broke out the window and mauled a kid in the parking lot. Mauled an innocent kid.

Steve, I think the fact that police dogs who bust outta windows and kennels that maul kids who are minding their own business getting the bravery award is bass ackwards. If you people think that a police dog has the authority to do what it wants in public like mauling children when ever where ever and legally allowed to break outta kennels and windows at free will .... well I think that says it all.

BTW, the police dog in the school parking lot was shot by the gym coach, twice.

Sad situation all around...

However, a lot of it doesn'ta dd up.

If the dog wandered around and attacked the kids out of the blue, then the kids should be compensated by the state or whoever has jurisdiction for their medical bills, trauma etc...

BUT...  if the dog was "minding his own business"and the kids shot their paint guns at him, then he atacked (which was my initial suspicion afterI read the article), then it gets a bit muddled.

For now, I will hesitantly side with the kids, just by judging/reading the story, however, a complete investigation should be done to determine the exact circumstances.

I have a feeling they were "messing with the dog"and started shooting their paint guns at him initialy maybe they thought it was great fun.

We'll see.

Not belittling this incident BabyEagle, but I'm astounded that the gym coach had a gun on him.  Is this normal?

The gym coach was loading equipment and gear for a track meet and had the gun in his truck. He did say he hit the dog in the rear with something, the dog let up for a bit, he thought because the kid was screaming thats why dog went right back on him this time to the face, so he got his gun and shot it. I remember him saying he should have just got the gun and shot it to begin with but he wasn't thinking straight.

If he would have, the boys eye would have been saved at least.
