Hi all,
I was looking to see if anyone knows of any trustworthy sites where I can make my own website that doesn't have a ton of ads and pop-ups....
Thanks in Advance!

There's several free content management systems that are popular for building sites: Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, Nucleus...

I know someone using www.weebly.com/

If you made a website with weebly, your url would be  (example)  www.vomruis.weebly.com
You might pay attention to fine print when looking at places like this.
Find out who owns the rights to the content.
Also search google for opinions.
If you make a site like this, put everything in a folder on your computer - then use the contents to make your site.
If the free site server malfunctions, you will have to make your site again and everything will be easy to find.

I prefer managing my own data on a hosting server though.
Then I have access and can back up my site.

webs.com is good if you know how to make your own layouts. Not so much for premades layouts that I remember since I do make my own.

Otherwise I would go with Weebly. It's a bit more professional and easier for new people to get accustomed to..

Thanks guys! I made a few websites many years back with my own layouts and liked it a lot... I have just forgotten everything LOL
I think I'll check out weebly first and read the fine print...
Thanks again

Stacy i just looked at Weebly and it looks pretty good. Then I have never made a website so it is probably the best for me unless there was web site making for dummies.lol All I have ever done is designed my own brochures, business cards etc.
Think I will be looking at it tomorrow and make a web site.Need to get something more the the brochures and such

Many websites often offer free space and a page building form, but they do bombard your page with advertising.
Basic ( HTML)  is not hard to learn if you want to try that, but it's almost to basic for a kick ass site.
Any provider will want a price for a commercial site if you want to go that route.
My provider gives me free space as long as its not commercial.  If I'd choose they would help with design free but charge me as a commercial site.
There are many website designer wanna Be's who would work with you cheaply.

~L~ you know I bet of we looked around there is a website buliding for Dummies LOL I'll give weebly a shot later today (maybe)  and make a test website... I just can't remember the one I used years ago but I really liked it, I was able to make my own page layouts... Maybe I will start with a premade layout for now...Maybe it was geocities, but I think I remember there being a ton of ads and pop ups... It was years ago...

Moons, I vaguely remember learning and using HTML and it was very plain... Not sure if I am ready for a kick ass site though, since once I post it...People will probably be ugly to me since my OFAs and Titles are not yet done... Hey I'm sensitive LOL But I am working on the titles and OFA isn't going to be done on my two adults until I move back to Texas where I was given some exellent referals of competent vets for OFA xraying.... Anyway thanks again.. After my nap I may fool around with that weebly...
Kind Rgrds,
Stacy

I use www.breederoo.com

It's not free, $15 a month. Very, very easy to use, comes with 6 email accounts, and no pop ups. Customer service is great. I love it.
