What is the price for shipping an 8week old puppy from Frankfurt, Germany these days?

Its just plain criminal the price for shipping I know its hurt the import business. I have spoke to a few guys in Germany and Chez and they are pissed as well it hurts their business. Of course they blame it on Obama and his spending spree for the price of everything to be so high due to the weak dollar. I agree with them he is a disaster......a Joke.. There has to be a better way I have heard old guys talk about getting dogs over by boat. I know it would take forever and not sure how the walks and exercising would go LOl

For a young puppy, it shouldn't be much more than 500 Euros to the east coast of the U.S.

I had my boy shipped frankfurt-orlando in nov 09 for 350 euro

At 500 Euro for a pup is still crazy given the price of the Obama Dollar. Your paying the same for a pup as you are for shipping. At one time there was talk of a company making a once a month flight the would be dogs and freight and stop on East coast and then West . You still have the stupid customs broker wanting your money, but thank GOD if you have a good customs agent you wont need one I haven't lately they will handle it all for you. Still if I where going to by a pup I would get it here.. Many many good ones being made here

Sometimes it's a lot cheaper to go by yourself, at least that's what i always did when dogs had to go to the States, it's the ticket price and just a 100 Euro extra for a dog in flybox size 5 counted as extra luguage... this is American Airlines...

I tried the going and taking the dog with me thing, It was still 1,000.00 for the dog and 800+ for me, Used to be able to fly me for 375.00, and 120.00 for the dog, but has been going up constantly since then..

I had one shipped Dec 09.
Prices ranged from 350 to around 600 euro.
Those were prices quoted from breeders - not airlines.
The 600 price was a breeder using a broker or shipping service like www.petshipping.com/
It depends on their distance from the airport, fuel prices, crate, & airfare. (etc..)
