We're supposed to get dumped on but I never believe it until I see it. But, this one's coming from the south and that's usually when we get the largest accumulations. But, then again, they're saying the south is also pushing up some warmer air and it may be a rain/snow mix. I wish I could find a job where never being sure or rarely being right is the norm. It's kind of like broken clocks, ever they're right twice a day!

Can't remember where you are at GSDtravels but if it is the east coast...yea you are going to get snow!! The rain is coming up from the south but it looks like once it hits the cold front more north that you are coing to get it in the form of some major snow!! I have found this site to be pretty accurate with the weather.

Pittsburgh. The last time we had that collision we had a blizzard. Hope so, blizzards are a blast. I'll watch all of the people running out to get bread and toilet paper. Cracks me how they act like snow remvoal is in the dark ages. When I was a kid we had more snow here than we've been getting for the last couple of decades, other than a rogue storm, like this. We lived at the bottom of a steep hill, the cars were rear wheel drive and the city used to put a box of cinders (by-product of the steel mills) one the sidewalk. If you wanted out, YOU spread the cinders. Needless to say, we were never stranded, it was like a party in the street with all of the neighbors pitching in. Now it makes the news if someone's street isn't plowed and salted within hours of a snowfall and nobody even shovels their walk. Amazing how dependent we've become.

They say were are just going to miss the fun, the snow line will stay just south of me. That's okay, we have swim championships this weekend and who wants to travel in that mess! Otherwise, I'm always up for a good blizzard, provided the larder is full, the woodpile stacked high and the batteries are fresh.

You should have seen it when I was living in a little town in the west part of Kentucky. If there was the slightest thought that there was going to be snow the town would close no school and NO one on the road.....except for me!! It was a mear 5 inches at the most.I grea up north of Chicago.....we would get 5 ft of snow!! In '79 I remember my brother building a cave in the snow in the drift off the hill behind our house and 3 of us could fit in there. The snow was up to the top of the door.It was awesome!!! Even here in AZ people run for supplies when the snow comes.I was the only one that could get out of my drive way (4x4) so I took the neighbors to the store. Only thing that is scary is the black ice on the windy roads of the mountain going in to town. Enjoy the snow and take pics of the dogs making doggie angels. lol

That's funny LAV, when I was a kid I remember the drifted snow covering our door and my Dad had to climb out a window to shovel out the door! He made a tunnel and our dog was the first one out, he loved the snow, He'd go sledding with us and pull our sleds back up the hill for us. Not a GSD, a dalmation mix, but the smartest dog I've seen to this day.

I'm amazed! They got it right on the button! They said it would start to snow at noon. It's 11:59 and just starting! This is one for the record books, even if the storm isn't, LOL

There was a time many years ago when weather forecasting was a sort of a best guess scenario but they generally get it pretty close nowadays.

Not around here! They're always predicting snow that never comes or they predict 6" and we get a dusting, or worse yet, rain. We're south of the snow belt but close enough that it's not uncommon to have decent accumulaion. So they err on the side of panic, LOL.
