2010: The Year of Tails
[yellow tail] wine and The Humane Society Of The United States
team up in celebration of animals

White Plains, NY, February 4, 2010 – [yellow tail] wine announced a collaboration with The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) in support of the organization's mission to celebrate animals. As part of their "[tails] for tails" campaign, [yellow tail] will make use of social media and in-store advertising to spread the message that consumers can "pick up a bottle of [yellow tail] and help a tail-wagging friend."

[yellow tail] has targeted its $100,000 donation to support The HSUS' Animal Rescue Team, which rescues animals in peril, whether from natural disasters or large-scale cruelty cases.

"[yellow tail] embraces animals, as seen through our logo featuring the Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby," said Mark Lyle, Vice President of Marketing for W.J. Deutsch. "Consequently we feel that The Humane Society of the U.S.'s initiative to help animals in danger through their noble Animal Rescue Team is an ideal mission to support."

[yellow tail] will also celebrate animals on a dedicated portion of the [yellow tail] Facebook page, linking to The HSUS' "Send Us Your Best Shot" pet photo contest. The contest asks fans to submit personal photos of their pets or favorite animals, with the chance for these photos to be published in The HSUS' bi-monthly publication All Animals and the opportunity to win great prizes.

Point-of-sale advertising highlighting the "[tails] for tails" campaign will be visible where [yellow tail] is sold through the end of March.

Consumers wishing to join [yellow tail] and The Humane Society of the United States in their celebration of animals and support of animal rescue efforts are encouraged to visit www.discoveryellowtail.com, from Monday, February 8th, for more information on how to make a donation to the "[tails] for tails" and HSUS Animal Rescue Team program.

Whether you are a wine drinker or not, this partnership must be protested loudly and clearly.

I'm not a member of Facebook but it is my understanding that the [yellow tail] page on that site is besieged with opposing comments. Until they withdraw their $100,000 support of H$U$ [yellow tail] wine will no longer be part of our lives.

Why?

HSUS ia an animal rights organization closely aligned with PETA.

" They oppose all pet breeding, lab animal use, feline trap-neuter-return programs and animal product consumption.
They reject the agenda of no-kill shelters in actively seeking better ways to save the lives of homeless animals, despite the recent success of many well-run municipal facilities in achieving these previously unrealized goals. They actively support the principle that animals might be better served through euthanasia than placed in homes where their suffering and servitude might be exacerbated. "

" While it courts dollars from its largely moderate welfarist base, the HSUS continues to promote its rightist agenda disingenuously. This approach has earned Pacelle the “wolf in sheep’s clothing” reputation among conventional animal-welfare organizations. "

This is but one of many sources providing information about the true agenda of HSUS. Input 'HSUS PETA Pacelle' into any search engine for additional sources.

That's really disappointing...but good to know. I hope Yellowtail smartens up.

Btw, your local Humane Society is not the same as HSUS.

Yellowtail did get a lot of flack for this.  Someone even started a Facebook "yellowfail" page.

HSUS is anti-pet, anti-animal, and anti-hunting.

Here's a direct quote from Wayne Pacelle, head of HSUS: “We have no problems with the extinction of domestic animals."

Full quote:  “We have no ethical obligation to preserve the different breeds of livestock produced through selective breeding ...One generation and out. We have no problems with the extinction of domestic animals."

More from HSUS;  "My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture." J.P. Goodwin, recently Director of Grassroots Outreach with HSUS. Formerly with the Animal Liberation Front, Mr Goodwin has a lengthy arrest record and a history of promoting arson to accomplish animal liberation.

More direct quotes from Wayne Pacelle:

“If we could shut down all sport hunting in a moment, we would.”

“We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States ... We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state.”

“Our goal is to get sport hunting in the same category as cock fighting and dog fighting."

Better the devil you know,
than the one who hides behind illusion.

These people are dangerous and should be exposed.

Pretty much anything HSUS and PETA go for, I would be against, simply because regardless of how nicely they dress up this or that particular goal, I know where they are headed with it.  They want the unsuspecting fools to donate their hard-earned cash so that HSUS can strip away more of your rights where animals are concerned, which disturbs me greatly.  What is worse is just how many fools there are who look into the eyes of their dogs or cats, and gladly hand over that money, thinking they're actually helping animals!

I think that HSUS and PETA need to be shut down, their activities and goals seen as what they are, counter-productive to humankind in general, and those who use arson or assault to attempt to further their goals should be prosecuted as the domestic terrorists they are.

Any organization that wants to eradicate all domesticated animal species is not in this world for the best interest of the animals:  They are in it solely for the monetary profit and the mass extinction of creatures who deserve to live more than they do.

I second that, Moons, but the problem is that the majority of members of these groups are either the very young, or the younger family types, usually gotten into it by the begging of a child targeted by the mass advertising these liars do.

The minds of the people of this country are not controlled or manipulated with logic; that would be far too hard.  But if you use emotion, like these people do, it makes manipulation far more effective and long lasting.  By targeting a child with the images of cattle being rolled around with a tractor to the slaughter house, animals being skinned alive for their furs, chickens being scalded in hot water to remove their feathers, dogs penned in tiny, feces-encrusted cages where they live out their lives, being bred over and over, producing pups for a pet store, or something similar, you firmly plant the idea that all types of animal husbandry are cruel, slave operations where animals are made to suffer and die needlessly for their human overseers.  Children are not only extremely susceptible to that type of marketing, when raised with these ideas in their heads, it can take an act of Congress to get them to get their heads out of the sand and see what reality is.

I don't have television right now, but when I see an ad for one of these groups, I tell my daughters right then and there, that this group is dedicated to getting rid of all of the animals that we love.  I make sure that each time they are aware that that means that Oakley would have been killed, to prevent her "suffering" through life as a slave to human whim.  That every thing we love that is not human would be gone if PETA and HSUS got their way.  The looks of disgust on my kids' faces is enough to tell me that they get it, which is good.  And if the subject of these groups comes up in some conversation that I'm having with someone else, I take the opportunity to tell them what I know...That PETA pays for videos depicting animal suffering to be made, pays people to hurt animals, so they can spread their message...Most of the "secret" videos they have been using over the past many years are so recycled you don't even need to watch them...Pretty bad when there's only a small handful of videos from years and years of animal slavery and suffering, isn't it?..

"...you firmly plant the idea that all types of animal husbandry are cruel, slave operations where animals are made to suffer and die needlessly for their human overseers. "

And those things are happening so somehwere in the middle is the truth.
