Eh, screw it. I give up trying to get my a proper interface between PDB and my phone. And for some reason it's not recognizing my line breaks either. I'll just code in breaks. Sorry 'bout this.
Anyhow, there's an old post about panda shepherd genetics. I started it, but Cate set my straight with some genetics.
I have a fascination with piebald animals, regardless of type. One of my other animal passions is snakes, and in 1997 a piebald ("panda") ball python appeared. Obviously not a crossbreed, with another snake species. *chuckles* Anyhow, the combination of white and color spontaneously occurs in many different animals, from birds to reptiles to rodents. And dogs too.
I do not believe Franka was a mutt, nor or her progeny. However, subsequent occurences in other bloodlines might be mutts.

I think its only reasonable to question the integrity of the pedigree in cases where the dog is atypical to that extent , AKC is no governing body Generally speaking the pedigrees on these atypical dogs of any breed consist of numerous generations of untitled dogs or at best the untitled dogs far out number the titled dogs which are really the only ones that can be documented unless you had pictures or personally knew the dogs even thats subjective. The lack of integrity may not even be intentional. an accident happens, papers are issued. chaos ensues!.... I see so many cases where people profess ad nauseum how their half Shepherd,Lab, whatever breed looks just like a purebred......to them anyway.uh boy
