Just thaught i would ask and see what others have experianced.
12 month old male GSD from very nice lines. I sold this pup and see him a lot. To me he still seems small. I have not messured him but he is like 60lbs now.
At what age did you see them not gett tallers or larger?
Just interested in what other have seen..

The dog has probably attained almost all of his height and length at this point, but will fill out for more than a year. He may still grow lengthwise a little bit but in seeing hundreds of dogs, by 11 or 12 months I think these parameters are generally very close to where the dog will end up.

Yes he is about as tall as he wili get. between 1 and 3 years old he will fill out and gain another 10 percent in weight keeping in mind he is kept slim he will top out at 67 pounds as a rough estimate.

My experience tells me that they reach their maximum size when reaching 18 months old, however when they mate, they eat more & they add / gain More weight & the more matured they get the more massive heads & bodies they have.
Some cases look smaller than normal till they reach 8 months then suddenly they change & they catch up their fellows of same age. Look at the parents the puppies will somehow look like their origins in respect of their sizes & specifications.

My vet said that Growth Plates close "around" 15 months in a GSD. So, Tarek's experience sounds right.

His sire is large male about 85 to 90lbs depending on if he is working or not. Now retired he is 90lbs. the mother is about 65lbs short, stocky and heavy build. To me he seems small
The ower was asking if i thaught he would get bigger he is a very good looking dog but on the small side..
I guess we will see what he turns into I do hope he gets a little bigger though.

Who is he out of? Nyra by any chance? If so, she definitely has those "smaller genes." Apollo is only about 60lbs.
