Noticed this site and wanted folks know that there is a new
product called PermaStay which restores a cropped bent ear
OR and ear which should stand naturally but does not.

It is crafted from surgical mesh with a fluroplastic spine and
has proven to be 100% safe.

Details can be found at www.neuticles.com.

You have got to be freaken nuts. We have enough cheaters in the animal world without someone designing & selling phony nuts & ear implants.

Mary,

Look at the web address.......

If they can make fake nuts, might as well have some thing for fake ears also.

I have not and will NEVER tape ears or use any thing to make ears stand up.  Either they are going to stand on their own or I will have a floppy eared GSD.

Why do we have so many ear problems, it comes from people HELPING ears to stand.  Could you imagin the bred founder taping dogs ears.

Ok,  I have a dog that broke his ear at 7 months.  I would consider it, but $399 just for the implant!  Yipes!

IMPLANTS!!! Sheesh, Mary is right--pure cheating. If it were just something to help ears that ARE going to stand along, like using "Breathe Rights," it would be one thing. But IMPLANTS??? Absolutely not. But any cheating fool who wants to pay that much AND be exposed at a show or survey (then be subject to organizational discipline ) please be my guest. ¶I know who I expect to use these things: the same ones who dye dogs and surgically address their crooked tails.

It's like I told an old friend of mine.. The more ears you tape, the more you will have to tape.
Think about it..  "You can't fool Mother Nature"...
This is the road that the show GSDs in the USA went down, a long time ago, and why some Americans started going to Germany back in the mid 70's to get the original dogs, as they were meant to be.
I resigned a 25 year membership with the SV, ten years ago.. disgusted to see this breed being commercialized to the same point as the AKC and GSDCA had allowed, here. Not to say that they were ALL bad, but the trend was NOT good, and everyone was running to linebred multiple, multiple times to Lance of Fran-Jo, while ignoring a great dog like Bodo vom Lierberg (who was right near me in S. California, but largely wasted).
This is really disgusting..
How can show breeders really say that they are improving the breed, when they are taping ears and fixing cryptorchids?
<shaking head, sadly>...
I mean.. Do what you got to do, but don't lie about it, anyway.
There should be a rule that any dog which has such a surgery should have to also have an implant, identifying the device.. like the serial numbers on boob implants. Then, at least, the public would not be buying such a dog, not knowing.
Gee.. What's next? How about swapping dogs out for OFA and 'a' stamp certifications? Oh, yeah..  It's been done before, too!

Mystere, glad I could amuse you for a moment. I just thought to myself "you've got to be f***ing kidding me."

MaggieMae, I almost posted that I think this is as bad as breast implants, but I figured those are so widespread now that I'd offend somebody for real...but seriously. It's cheating. Some of us like to be judged on what's REAL. ;-)Even if, with old age, they become like "tangerines in tube socks" as one of my puppy buyers so eloquently put it to me. LMAO (maybe I can get butt implants).
