Had to bring Jake to the vet today because he broke the nail on his light big toe.  I didnt think his nails were too long, we have hardwoods and i never heard the "click, click" sound when he would walk around.  Anyways, the vet said that he broke it off in a good place (where the quick and the nail meet). We've got to give him 2 weeks of antibiotics but besides that he'll be fine.
He is exactly 6 months old and weighs 61 pounds, the vet said he looked good and that he will be a big boy.

Nice looking puppy, the nail issue will turn out just fine. Make sure you finish all the antib.
Always,
Cee

Just exactly how did Jake break off the toenail?  I always worry about Echo doing that because she is such a wild child and it seems like all I ever do is trim her nails.  Jake is a handsome fella!  Echo's left ear did exactly like his is doing too.

he deb, i have no idea how it happend.  jake runs and plays hard probably like most GSD's. im guessing he did it chasing a bouncing kong in my home. i have light colored berber carpets in my basement  and thats where i noticed blood. i had no idea that his nails were long.  like i said before theres no "click click" when he walks on the wood floors.  funny thing though is that it never really bothered him. he never limped or licked that area, he plays just as hard with the broken nail  as he does with  a healthy one.
when did echos ear go up?  sometimes his ear is up and sometimes its a little floppy.
