I am interested in supplementing raw with kibble.  I know this is a silly question, but I'm new at this.  Do you feed everything completely raw (chicken, liver, etc.)?  What are some of the foods I could use?  I'm also worried because my dogs are indoor dogs, they are out during the day and in at night with myself, husband and 3 kids.  If the dogs eat raw chicken and get it on their paws and face won't they bring in salmonella or other germs on their fur?

Everything raw. I recommend searching this board, because we have discussed it in depth about 400 times and you can find a lot of good info in there! Not that I'm blowing you off, but it's all here already.

I can really recommend joining the Yahoo Rawfeeding group.  It is a VERY active group, with experienced, knowledgeable members.  They can answer all your questions.

For the record - Salmonella and other germs are everywhere.  It has very little to do with raw feeding, and a lot to do with common sense.  Personally, we feed our dogs human-grade meat, usually frozen, and take the "normal" precautions.  Wash your hands, wipe counters, use Apple Cider vinegar where you feel you need some extra care....

I only feed raw .
I freeze the food then defrost it as and when needed .

I just throw the whole chicken and call it a day. Only freezing when I buy too much.

Living with a certain among of germs and bacteria are good for you.

But handling raw meat requires some precautions.
Wash everything well including food bowls and don't cross contaminate anything.

Unless you are a vegetarian I expect you handle raw meat for you and your family.  So really there is nothing more than the usual good housekeeping precautions to take.
